Doesn’t the RAF Museum have a duty to preserve and display certain exhibits ?
Some of the most important exhibits imho are the wreck parts, pilot personal effects and so on.
The WW1 displays were dispersed or removed and now it would seem the BoB exhibits.
Are these not two of the proudest milestones in the RFC, RAF’s history that should always be represented ?
The Pilatus film prop long term resident outside PPS is now gone.
Is the Lancaster painted in a different type of paint?
The exhaust staining is more obvious now, more akin to a wartime aircraft.

The RNHF are just a shadow of their former 1980’s self.
Hopefully the aircraft will continue to operate. Maybe a Swordfish to Shuttleworth if they do get sold off.
Why would you want to transport just the fuselage?
What about the wings etc.
Seems a lot of effort to transport something you could ship or truck.
Instead of cherry pickers couldn’t you just use frangible sticks that don’t pose a hazard to anyone?
I’ve seen this done at barn storming days presumably just in case the barn storming aircraft is having a bad day and hits one.
It’s not inconceivable that an aircraft could fly into the cherry picker.
Why does Miss Velma have a P51 and P38 image on it’s drop tank?
So is the Yak effectively a write off then?
Begs the question why such an obstruction should exist near a runway.
Have to accept that aircraft may get into difficulties especially tail draggers.
