Also good to check out the reduced section in your local Modelzone.
They have been knocking out 1:72nd Academy KC97 boom tankers for £20 (normally £40).

i know i should know better but i was all bombed out, go on give me a rocket.

Looks more like the thermal exhaust port from a Y-Wing.

There can be no finer example of mans technological advances than in aviation. If you include the YF22 in that formation. Totally amazing. But I still think the P51 is the most beautiful of aircraft from that formation. Except for the Spitfire of course!

Personally I do not like CGI – I can never see it as anything other than a hi-tech cartoon.

There are two types of cgi. One good, one bad.
Two examples of cgi I bet you never knew were cgi.
Shaun of the Dead, the scene where they throw records at the zombies. Those records are cgi.
Gladiator. The tops of the buildings and gladiator arena are cgi. The bottoms are real set.
In other words if cgi is done correctly you won’t notice it.
On the other hand real world effects done badly look like cgi or models. The scene where the Duxford hanger blows up in BoB. I always thought that was a model. The way the tree sways and the hanger panels blow out. Always looked odd to me. As for the rest of the effects. Sorry but the original film is great `except` for those horrid flame and explosion effects. Dambusters and the water spout effects. Both are horrid, horrid, horrid!
I think a new BoB film with cgi is exciting, but only if done correctly.
I still think they should do a George Lucas and revisit both films and redo the effects. Think of the Dambusters with cgi. Mouthwatering!

What’s the story with the airfield. Looks to be a lot of construction going on there.
