I am connected to my wireless with my ipad and have typed in the generic 192.168.1.1 to get the admin panel so I can check the settings of the router. I need to make sure it is secure or else I will not be able to connect up with my works computer using VPN. So I tapped in the IP address above and typed “admin” for username and password and it displayed a screen showing all the router details including username, network ID and passwords. Should it show this or is it only showing this because I am connected with a device that already knows the password ? Confused. Any ideas ?

What you are seeing is the admin screen.
To secure the wireless router / modem turn on WEP, Wireless Equivalent Privacy.
Find this in router or wireless settings. Turn it on and set an Alpha Numeric Password.
Once set and saved the router may reboot. Then all your devices will disconnect from wireless.
You then need to set the password you created into each device you want to connect to wireless.

I can just imagine the in flight safety passenger information.

“Should we suffer cabin depressurization and your body experience the vacuum of space a pressure suit will not fall from the ceiling.
Try to put on the suit before your blood boils. Vomiting inside the helmet is not advisable”.

I nearly had a nasty accident with a packet of quick boil Pasta.
Reading the instructions on the back it stated I should “stir with a knob”.
Fortunately I had the where with all to lift the packet seem to find the very comforting words “of butter” underneath.
    Phew.

“the build standard of German aircraft was little short of appalling.”

There was an interesting program on TV where Reg Hallam talked about the restoration of Black 6.
I seem to recall other British pilots, and people restoring them also talking about the Spitfire and 109.
Consensus of opinion was that both aircraft were comparable and had their faults. What I found interesting was comparison
    of restoring these old aircraft.
The 109 was easier to restore because it was designed to be a production line aircraft where as the Spitfire was not.
This is evident in the construction of the two. Want to change the engine of the 109, just remove the front and swap it with another.
Want to check the engine just lower or raise the cowl.
The wings could be swapped with any other aircraft from the production. Try that with the Spitfire and they just wouldn’t fit.
The skins on the 109, although having some undesirable features had some very nice filleting and flush fitting seams.
While the Spitfire could be made on a production line the 109 was made to be a production line aircraft. This is something entirely different.
Hence the 109 was a lot quicker to produce than the Spitfire. The 109 also had a jettison-able hood. This feature was added later to the Spitfire.

While I’m not trying to say the Spit was inferior to the 109 the more I read about German manufacturing and engineering makes me think they were way ahead of us.
Perhaps some warbird restorers could comment.

These incidents are very sad. But what concerns me more is if a stowaway can get into the undercart then so can a terrorist.

What’s the driver for restoring these aircraft? Are they corroding, have issues or is it just their turn?

Being happy. Having someone to talk to. Feeling safe and secure. Taking the time to stop, look and experience things.
Not craving the desire to constantly buy things.
Model making. Realizing that life is short and we need to grasp every moment.
    Having time to reflect.

Is this film going to be made? Seems a lot of effort if not.
BTW anyone care to dream up a suitable cast?

I was watching a program on TV about an American unit in Afghanistan and one of the US Soldiers was nick named “RJ” Mitchell.
I was quite surprised to say the least.

In the 80’s and 90’s it was common to find several airshows on the same day. I always thought this was to allow aircraft to appear at several shows and therefore maximize their revenues while keeping the operating costs down?
As to costs. £35 in the current climate is at the point where it is starting to hurt, me at least.
I took four people plus myself. Cost around £170. Then two brochures that’s £12. Then £30 for the flight-line. When you add fuel and food (even considering we took it with us) we are looking at £250 – £300 for a day out.
That’s still a large sum of money from anyone’s pocket.

My opinion of the display. Yes, certainly aircraft attendance down on some previous years and no one real `gem` of an act.
Still liked the display. A nice collection of aircraft. Excellent weather and two happy teenagers (plus we made a visit to Madingly).
So far this is the only display I have attended this year.

Only downside. Being stung an extra £10 on the gate and no noticing.
