Gene is responsible for the idea of getting WW1 aircraft from NZ elsewhere to England year on year to advance education in the evolution of military aviation during the Great War – WAHT was formed this year to make this happen. All things being equal if funding is found this should start happening at Stow Maries once the temporary hangar is built in August. Watch this space and watch out for the Quadcopter video being posted shortly.

Well, Ive been going to Shuttleworth nearly 40 years now, and I’m still not really sure how to pronounce Deperdussin properly!
The Aussie approach is simple – it’s a Dep!
And for Hampden, Art Nalls ex AV8 jockey owns and flies a Sea Harrier, the only privately operated Harrier in the world.
By the way, there is a long interview with Joe Anderson and Art Nalls on this podcast.

Gene de Marco also appears towards the beginning of this ‘unboxing’ video of the Le Rhone engine delivered in the same shipment, for the Bristol Scout flying replica currently under construction, along with a Shuttleworth engineer. Via Bristol Scout:Rebuilding Granddad’s aircraft

This answer comes up a fair amount; in several other cases, it’s because the name is all capitals:
Best I could do for NZ:
de Havilland factory at Rongotai, NZ. (from WoNZ forum).
I assume that the representation at MOTAT (of Rongatai, now-days better known as Wellington Intl) is correct as to font etc for a point in time. It’s possible that I have close-ups of the display signage (which includes photos) at home. In any case, I’ll look for photos on-site when I visit to see the finished The Captain’s Fancy markings on the Lanc soon.

Hmm, I should check my titles etc on Flickr.
To get you started, here is the one in the RAAF Museum.

The Lancaster at MOTAT, Auckland has recently had it’s markings changed to a 75 (NZ) Squadron Lanc that took part in the Manna drops. The official unveiling is today, by chance!
There are torrents on EZTV and elsewhere.
Some (in the order of dozens? out of thousands that served in Europe) of Maori/part-Maori aircrew as well. Difficult to identify from records, as race not recorded.
She was returned to the air after her belly landing.
For clarity, Allan Arthur’s P-40 is a -N.
Thanks, that saved my double-checking, I’ve got it (VH-ZOC) tagged as a P-40N-1-CU

The other one (in Australia) that I’ve seen is VH-HWK, the P-40F

Hopefully I’ll see ZK-CAG (ex-RAAF) at Ardmore this weekend!
