“If a revenue stream leaves you correct and amend your budget to compensate for that…..”
The problem is that the EU has NEVER and is never likely to reduce its annual budget. There are far too many individuals and groups supping from the gravy train. Hence the desperation of any means whatsoever to scupper the project. They desperately need our money. Simple. That’s their bottom line. So I hope our currently spineless Government run by Europhile civil servants in the Treasury and Foreign Office, changes its approach and makes the case transparently, allowing no room for obfuscation.
Both China and India have planned hundreds of new coal fired power stations over the next few years.
The debate about AGW – man-made global warming (now conveniently but meaninglessly renamed climate change) still hinges on the data, not any interpretation of the data.
Much of the “data” used as the basis for AGW computer modelling has long been found either fraudulent, inaccurate or both. There is so much doubt and contradiction about the whole AGW culture that no truly disinterested scientist could or should, unconditionally, accept the dogma.
I suppose it fits with today’s obsession with ranking and finding the “best of”. Just look at the weekly TV output.
Utterly irrelevant in this case and in fact quite tasteless.
Peter Hall – a titan of 20th century theatre as well as a notable film and opera director. A mercurial, witty, generous, driven and exceptionally talented man.
“…..there is little sense of individual responsibility. It’s someone else’s fault. It’s not my fault.”
How true – sums up our age.
Good memories but a shadow of its former self…..
How sad. What a delightful and friendly gentleman he was. The Few are becoming very few now.
And of course those last two sentences have been equally applicable across the globe since man first imposed sanctions.
Well Russia has supported sanctions since 2009. It doesn’t believe they have had any effect, so is non-commital about further sanctions. China which really holds all the aces cannot countenance a flood of N.Korean refugees in the even of hostilities. But China could flick a switch and turn off most of the bilateral trade. Which would have the effect of starving out the populace long before the elite suffered any reduction in living standards. But once the military were starved of the good life Kim’s days might be numbered.
Tickets bought!! Weather gods better be smiling……
What a marvellous set of photos! Is this the Chatellerault near Mirebeau? Had several happy holidays near Coussay.
I’m not so sure. False comfort I fear. I voted Brexit for my own very clear reasons but I take little comfort from some of the tripe the Brexit supporting press publish. And the same goes for the other side too.
