I’m probably being naive but most of the negotiation of this nature is left to civil servants on both sides. The combination of an EU bureaucracy and a hardened core of remainers both unable to accept the democratic process combined with a weak, vascillating Government has produced a toxic mix which the media and every Brexit illwisher is lapping up, digesting and spitting out with added venom.

All of which is unedifying to say the least.

I assume all these claims and counter claims are simply for media and public consumption. I don’t doubt a great deal of serious negotiation is being conducted well out of public view.

I did wonder which is why I wrote “aero jumbles and elsewhere”.

Part of my youth. Dolly Parton said he had “one of the greatest voices of all time”!

Won’t a fair percentage of relics traded at aero jumbles and elsewhere have come from crashed aircraft in which aircrew may well have perished?

I can’t comment on individual cases of course but the fact is that exporters have not had as good an opportunity for years, so that information is disappointing to read.

First Light – read and reread many times. My clear favourite of that genre of autobiography.

Exporters are benefitting from the low Sterling value and all electric by 2040 is utter pie in the sky. More Brexit scaremongering.

I agree. There’s often a sense that privately owned artefacts are REALLY for everyone’s pleasure rather than for the owner to decide their fate.

It goes both ways i’m afraid. We were in a tented area at the RIAT with a meal as part of the package. Two people sat at a table with 5 chairs and bluntly refused to let us use the 3 chairs they had “bagged” .
It comes down to individual behaviours i am afraid.

Even simpler – it comes down to whether or not the individual is selfish and inconsiderate.
