Geoff – thank you so much for posting Jonathan’s Epilogue. True to the man – right from the heart.

Came to know him and his family well in the 60s. A lovely, witty, generous and warm hearted man of whom I have the fondest memories, which have been reawakened by your post. His brief period as a Goon were the natural precursor of It’s A Square World and Potty Time and arguably his surrreal imagination was the equal of Milligan’s. His marvellous Chairback routine from the early 50s is on YouTube I think.

Mark12 – We lived at Hampton, Middx, around the same time and my father, who was in the ROC, assured me that they were.

Hal Far is a racetrack and industrial estate now, I think.

Self-righteous media headline. But as we constantly have to remind ourselves he is doing nothing illegal. Tax avoidance has been practiced since taxes were created and continues to be so from the Farages of this world to the handyman paid in cash to avoid declaring his income.

Still remember so vividly that pass and Flapjack’s whole display. Few displayed that beautiful aircraft as well as he did.

Thanks for that, Meddle. I’ll be there in a couple of weeks so will allow more time than I’d planned, as Snapper suggests.

Pity the debate and speculation about Saturday’s incident has muffled any reports on Sunday’s show. The weather was perfect and despite the cancellations I thought it was a marvellous show. A sky full of Hurries was really special. Lots of fine display flying particularly the Naval and Russian segments. A thoroughly enjoyable day.

Common practice across the board. There is a insatiable need in the media to preview everything from TV programmes to political speeches and announcements. Why? Who knows?

BM – putting words in my mouth. They should be disinterested and act as directed by their Ministers.

And there I would be in agreement with your last paragraph.
