AFAIK they were all US-registered, RIP, so I think we can probably rule out a Rugby Union connection.
Hmm, not sure then. Quite possible it was just a ‘busy day’, given the lack of any other viable reasons….
Talking of EDI, does anyone know why there were so many bizjets in there today?
10 Gulfstreams and a BD-700, or so I’m given to understand – all lined up in a row, too.
Any pictures?
Not sure, the Heineken Cup final is at Murrayfield this weekend, so it could be for that. Got a 747 due in too. Or it could just be coincidence. EDI already gets its fair share of bizjets on a daily basis, although that’s alot of Gulfstreams!
If you look at the BAA report issued and the map of the airport current land usage, the shape of the boundary resembles a giant hand gun pointing towards GLA and PIK.
Funny that ? 😀 😮
How observant of you. 😀 Looks more like a handgun to me….. :diablo:
HAHA! 😀 Thanks for the laugh.
That’s a quacker ! 😉
That sure is. 😀
I could see the logic in retaining EDI-STN (only one competitor on the route) but I think GSM would still be better switching the GLA flights to LGW if they can get hold of the slots. Only BA to compete with on this route, after all.
I thought they already had the slots for LGW. Obviously not for when they planned, looks like they might do for early next year though. I agree, if they want to serve London, EDI-STN and GLA-LGW is the best way to go about it.
I noticed this earlier, not sure what the situation is with LGW.
EDI-STN is actually bookable through to the end of January.
Im not even going to try and pronounce the names of these places.
No, but it’ll be interesting listening to the people announcing them at the airport try to! 😀

ComeOnLetsFly 😉
Aren’t they flying from GLA at all according to their website they only fly from EDI and Dundee both going to London City and no other destination or am I doing something wrong on the website.
So why be called “SCOTAIRWAYS” when you don’t fly from more Scottish aitports
Cheers
They used to fly from GLA, but no longer do. They fly from 2 Scottish cities, used to be 3, their main ops are from Scotland to LCY so I think it makes sense for them to be called Scot Airways, although I’m sure they used to be called Suckling Airways? In the same waym you could ask why Air Scotland have the right to be called Air Scotland when they only predominantly fly from one Scottish airport?
Nope the 757 is 100% going when the 737s come. The extra capacity will be used to make GLA-CDG, GLA-ATH and GLA-AMS all 5 weekly.
That’s not what I’ve read recently, and in any case. I don’t think we can 100% sure of anything with Air Scotland anymore! 😮
Aw man! If I’d known they were going to be opening it this soon, I would have tried harder to book my flights on BA!
I have a challenger! I think this pic rocks! 😉
Unfortunately everyone seems to be being tight-lipped about what’s expected due to problems in the past with posting expected movements in the past. 🙁 Either that or they just don’t know…. However, I am led to believe that a Corsair B747 is expected.
Some nices ones there Stuart. Be careful with Neatimage, it sometimes picks out the wrong bits :p
I look forward to seeing some more from that direction soon, and get you uploading to jp.net and anet is no time! 🙂
P.S. Send me a couple of originals on msn, I’ll give them a go on PS7.
Haha, thought you might notice. It softened the Flyglobespan ones a bit too much. 😉
I will do, I’m hoping for better results when they switch runways back to 24.
Thanks Tom. 🙂
