Fly Globespan have today confirmed their intentions to set up a long haul sevice, with the announcement of services from Glasgow to Florida staring in summer 2006.
What this means in terms of fleet is anyone’s guess? We know they wish to buy the 787 but we’ve also heard rumours of 777’s, 767’s and even a DC-10 being used until the 787 is available.
No doubt The Scotsman will pick up on this and report that they will also be offering EDI-Florida flights. Given that GLA and EDI are due to feature in their long haul plans?

Doesn’t bother me when it happens! , but it is a fact that EDI does not require early expansion. The wide-bodies are accomodated easily elsewhere. EDI could do with having fewer remote short haul stands before their wishlist extends to wide-body stands!
It’s nothing to do with widebody stands! Clearly you can’t be aware of the fact that EDI is now overcapacity, so urgent expansion of the terminal is needed. Although initially not onto the land at Ingliston a new pier is to be contructed on the SE apron, infact, looking at the pics on another EDI pic thread, it appears work may just have started.

Yep, more investment from BAA.
And where it’s needed most.

Another nice collection of pics. With a bit of luck this building work should be the very beginning of work on the new SE pier.

Excellent pics! 🙂 I see that CSA have painted the tail-skid on the B734, now that’s attention to detail. 😉

I think it’s a Varig DC-10 dumping fuel?
It looks like they are coming from the leading edges of the flaps? Plus the condensation above the wings makes me think alot of moisture in the air?

Woah! They are the craziest wingtip vortices I have ever seen! 😮
