I used to love watching The Reds at airshows but since the 3 serious incidents since 2010 resulting in 2 deaths in 2011 I have found their displays much more mute. The aircraft fly noticeably further apart and the syncro pair just seem to lack that ‘zing’.
A real real shame after 23 fatality free years. 🙁
How come we don’t see any (none?) helicopter cockpit projects?
The Boscombe Down Aviation Collection has a Sycamore and a Wasp on display

The old RFC stations on Salisbury Plain, Larkhill, High Post and Stonehenge. Admittedly only small propeller driven aircraft could fly out of them but what I would give to see an aircraft take off from Stonehenge…!
On a similar theme Edgar, the use of the expression ‘frape’ to describe somebody using another persons Facebook to post things to embarrass that person. It is obvious what the expression is linked to and since when the f___ has that been a slightly upsetting misdemeanor!

Nothing is forever. I grew up thinking Woolworths were always going to be there.
Which big name is going to be next I wonder ?
W H Smith never seem to be that busy, on the odd occasion I’ve been into one of their shops.
I was chatting with somebody about a month after Woolworths disappeared and they said the main reason why they went bankrupt is that they didn’t actually own any of their shops. He said they were all rented (leased whatever) and so when they needed to raise money to pay increasing bills the best they could do was reduce outgoing cash rather than increase incoming cash.

WP840, I don’t the one that crashed was an ETPS one, the media, as usual, are just picking out pics.
I heard it was G-CRST but I haven’t seen that confirmed.
Sorry I should have been a bit clearer. I realise the aircraft that crashed was not an MoD aircraft but the generic picture chosen by The Sun was of an ETPS helicopter.
On The Sun website the picture of an A-109 helicopter they chose to display is of the ETPS one I see flying out of Boscombe Down regularly.
Sent a shiver down my spine 🙁
Did you see http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=121513 ?
No. 😮
My first Spitfire was sitting in TB752 aged 14 on cadet camp at RAF Manston. I was the only cadet allowed to sit in the aircraft as I was (by far) the smallest and least likely to damage it!

There has been no contact from the Peter Jackson/Dambusters team for many years. We are not expecting any approach from them as it sounds as though they are planning on using CGI and model Lancasters for the film.
🙁
On the plus side though, if there are three airworthy, then it’s one more to share the costs if they need to get batches of parts made.
Are there enough non airworthy Lancasters in good enough condition to source some spares from?
I love the Phantom, it looked right flying in the 60’s and it still looks right flying today in the 10’s 50+ years later!
Whereabouts is the Lightning in post 1?
