Vulcan
A couple for you, the first was seen whilst shopping in Eastleigh, you forget just how close Southampton Int Airport is. The second (third and fourth) were taken whilst walking our dogs along the Boscombe Down perimeter fence. I’m not sure what it is, it was wearing an ETPS tail fin but I didn’t think they had any BAe 146’s (if indeed that’s what it is).
The Red Arrows crossing picture is as close to perfect as I think you can get photographing the syncro pair, well done!
Lincoln 7
Some extraordinary pictures on this site.
Wow!
Sounds good to me, and with all the cut backs it would only require a basic engineering team to keep her air worthy.
For Brits, maybe, but for overseas tourists the Vulcan would mean little or nothing. Not that there has been much progress with the Concorde project anyway, so far as I know….
I thought a country in South America had strong links to the Vulcan…. 😉
I think you are confusing it with Concorde by the London Eye….
Oh, yeah 😮
I think a Vulcan would be more popular!
AH9 were originally Light Utility Helicopter compared with attack AH7 TOW.
I always thought the 9’s were simply upgraded 7’s not intended for use in different roles, thanks for the info!
Wasn’t there talk a few months ago (or a bit more) of having a/the Vulcan on a barge on the Thames?
I did just that and during my 30 minute break saw many great aircraft, an Me109 was towed from hangar 2 to behind Air Space, the Dragon Rapide took off and I saw a Chipmunk, silver nosed Harvard and a Spitfire with it’s underside painted half black half white, the B17 Memphis Belle/Sally B was parked on the apron alongside what I’m sure was a Junkers Ju52.
What I saw over the fence,
Why does the B17 (and other aircraft I’ve seen pictures of) have a single engine nacelle painted in a checked pattern?
Me too Shorty01.
A normal Day at DX then… WP840
Sigh, and I live 142 miles, 2 hours 33 minutes away 🙁
Thats definately not the case. They do watch the carpark quite closely.
WP840 – any problems then there is a layby used by other HGV’s on the opposite side of the road. Once parked you can just nip across the road to the airfield.

2 questions; I’ll be at Duxford tomorrow for about an hour, are there any interesting aircraft visiting or due to be flying around lunch time?
Would the museum mind if I was to park in their car park for 1 hour in my 18 ton truck?
I realise the second question might be considered very cheeky.
