1. “It’s in the shade…”
2. “They’ve got water in there…”
3. “We’ve only been gone 10 minutes…”
4. “It’s not hot in there…”
5. “The windows are open a bit….”
6. “I’ve had dogs for 30 years – I know how to look after dogs…”
7. “You’re just a troublemaker….”
8. “You don’t know what you’re talking about…”
9. “I’m just about to give them some water…”It’s 21-23ºC outside – over 30ºC inside my car. Which of the above excuses were rolled out by an elderly couple, after I confronted them about leaving 2 GSDs and a Collie in the back of their estate for 1 hour and 15 minutes? The car windows were open about six inches all round, the rear of the car was partially in the shade and the windscreen was in full sunlight.
I spoke to the councils car park enforcement officer who noted my concerns and stated she would keep an eye on the dogs. She basically said the police won’t attend unless there are signs of distress and the RSPCA are much the same.
I popped into the vets over the road and picked up some ‘dogs die in hot cars’ leaflets, one of which I left under the car windscreen wiper. In the end I handed it to the driver when I got back to my car.
Why are people so stupid?……
From a different forum, Just asked my dad who is a police officer, and he too was unsure about it – he said it is a very grey area, however you probably wouldn’t be prosecuted for smashing the window because the police would be more interested in prosecuting the car owner for cruelty to animals – so it would probably be overlooked, but I suppose it is dependant on the situation.

Today travelling south on the A419 10 miles north of M4 I saw what looked like 2 Dh Herons parked up in a yard.
Anybody know any more about them?
I saw 4 pairs of GR9 wings at Southampton docks awaiting loading and shipping to the US in December last year.
Tony – can you give an idea of what kind of stock you want donated?
Old Sarum is very much the birthplace of the Army Air Corps -I hope you can reflect some of that history as well!
Isn’t Old Sarum the oldest surviving airfield still in use dating from 1917?
Confession: I organised the flypast. I had a total of 14 aircraft register and seven pulled out at the last minute, due to weather, serviceability and gremlins.
One interesting fact was that on board one of the aircraft was Sonja Fillingham who won the King’s Cup Air Race in 1953 along with her husband the de Havilland Chipmunk test pilot, Pat Filllingham. It added a wonderful bit of historic gravitas to the event.
Nice pics, 91Regal.
Amusingly, the formation briefing was temporarily disrupted by the sight and sound of B17 Sally B flying past Panshanger.
I absolutely love this picture! 😀
Has the whole collection moved?
Bruce
Yes, they have spent time converting Hangar 1 into a museum to house and display the aircraft.
Excellent shots! 😀
:D:D I wonder how many members will get that?
I did, I did!
Scaramouche! Scaramouche! Will you do the Fandango?!

I was very disappointed to find when I got to The Eagle that it was completely closed undergoing renovation, but I did take a couple of shots of the exterior. I also popped in to Duxford on the way home hoping to see something flying but at 9.30 in the morning this proved to be asking a bit too much, I did however get to see ‘Memphis Belle’ parked on the apron. I’m not sure of the true identity of this aircraft as I thought the original Belle was in a museum in America.
Pictures will follow…
Excellent pictures of the MiG-28!
Busy morning at Boscombe, 9.45 a Sea King was flying within airfield boundary at about 500 foot carring an underslung load, at 9.50 I saw a Tucano about a mile away and a C-130K Hercules C1P that flew circuits for the next hour. At 11.15 I heard the distinctive drone of KF183 which I saw several minutes later as also flying circuits and at 11.20 I heard a jet, possibly taking off that I would say was almost certainly a Hawk.

Sorry if it has already been said elsewhere but which RAF squadrons are likely to operate the F35?
