Thanks FP, I didn’t think to search using tail numbers. 😮

Do we have an anniversary coming up of the Yellowjacks, Black Arrows or Blue Diamonds to commemorate? Yellow Hawks would be nice!

Couldn’t they commemorate all 3? Yellow fuselage, blue wings and black tail planes and fin?

How long before we see this on the underside of the Reds…?

Times change, The Red Arrows did this many times at displays, especially over Blackpools piers. It was the shock factor that caused the panic and no wonder after the twin towers.

I thought the Red Arrows did this sort of thing slightly in front of the crowd line, but only just in front thus giving the effect of being directly overhead?

Manfred Von Richthofen. I know he wrote/dictated a biography in the latter part of WW1 but to have written it at the end of WW1 would have made for a cracking read. He would have been able to include a full account of how the head injury he received in combat on 6th July 1917 had really affected him and why he chose to continue fighting despite this.

The Spanish ambassador has been in constant discussion with UK Government to avoid hostilities!

What story are you referring to? You have just written some statement. Any sources or quotes?

Not forgetting the much larger Beriev A-40 Albatross that came to Fairford some years back

The A-40 is quite simply my favourite Russian built aircraft and has been since I first saw one in the early 90’s!

Are there any western built, jet powered amphibious aircraft that could at least match the Be-200?

BEST- my first powered flight as a 13 year old Air Cadet, 15 minutes flying in Chipmunk WP840 from Hurn in June 1991. 😀

WORST- again as an Air Cadet but 2 years later, a 20 minute flight from Old Sarum as a front seat passenger in Tobago G-TOBA. The flight was OK but as it was a private plane there was no chance of taking control, I felt like a spare part for the whole flight although the views of Salisbury Cathedral from 1500ft up made up for that a bit. 🙁

Forgot to mention this. When we were coming back from Newark last Wednesday (28th), saw a Harrier fuselage on the back of an artic going South on the A1.

I can’t give any further details, I was driving the opposite way and only spotted it at the last minute. It was probably a later model and was grey.

Is there any chance it could have been heading to the south coast? I’m sure it was a grey Harrier fuselage I saw heading south on M3 near Winchester last week.

Its not exactly a state secret, and the way in which you asked the question, could quite easily be taken as an insult (thats what it looks like to me).

Unfortunately over here we don’t get to hear about ADF ops as often as I would certainly like to. No offence intended at all.
