Five
– Afghanistan
– Iraq (guys babysitting the diplomats)
– East Timor
– Solomon Islands
– Persian Gulf/Horn of Africa, Various naval vessels. Those are just the ones with 100+ troops, there are quite a few more if you count smaller deployments.
Well, you learn something new every day!
Stop being so pessimistic. The British Armed Forces still have three times the budget of say, the Australian Defense Force (which has 4 front line fighter squadrons plus two OCU’s).
Yes but how many long term overseas engagements is the ADF involved in?
Interesting. 😀
I wonder if I should go the “naval” route, given that I live in Plymouth.
Naaa.
Invincible and Harrier, sounds good to me.
Whenever a car is driven around corners through towns the wheels screech and when a car does a perfectly safe stop it’s tyres will screech but wheels carry on turning ok.

I never realised there were so many flyable Hurricanes about, I can remember when there was only one!
I’ve always thought the Fenestron tail rotor improved the Helicopter’s cruise performance.
Nice pictures.
I do wish the Red Arrows would ditch the silly “Royal Air Force” writing from the middle of the white fuselage cheatline. Just ruins a lovely scheme for me.
I agree totally, most people already know they are with the RAF. What next, having ‘BAe Hawk’ written on tail in large letters? ‘Flying suit by…’?
Sell them on to Iraq, I’m sure they’d welcome a proven interceptor into their new Air Force.
I am so glad the Ted Devil was OK after the Fire And Rescue team provided first aid, I had a lump in my throat as I scrolled down the page! 😮
Get rid of those civvie serials and give them what they really deserve, military serials!
Cracking first shot of Hunter! 😮
Over the last week I’ve driven around Odiham a couple of times and noticed the Chinooks seemed to be flying around quite a bit. Are they practising for an up and coming deployment or is this just standard ops?
I love the two Chippies, particularly the nose art on G-HDAE!
😎
The job centre deciding that I’m not allowed my JSA because, despite me actively looking for work, I’m not allowed to be unavailable at the same time. So, am I not allowed to take a short break??
Not only that, but they fail to adequately inform me that my JSA is going to be suspended!
So I have been three weeks without getting my JSA. Nice one.
In February the work I’d been getting through 3 driving agencies I was signed up with completely stopped. After 3 weeks of b*llsh*t from my local job centre I decided that claiming JSA wasn’t actually worth it for the amount of times I was expected to attend interviews/assessments/discussions etc meant I was spending a fortune in petrol!
The Government say unemployment is about 2.4 million but I imagine there to be about 1 million people who don’t show as unemployed as they know how difficult it is to claim any JSA so they simply don’t bother!!!
