I’m sure it has already been said earlier in this group but what was the first aircraft to wear the shark mouth nose art?
I had to cheat, very interesting!
I delivered to RAF Odiham today, I saw the Chinook gate guard outside, inside I saw the Whirlwind XR453 and watched a brilliant flying display from one of the bases Chinooks! :applause:
This afternoon at 17.15 as I was driving into Hungerford I saw a V22 flying at about 5000 foot heading in an Easterly direction. This is the first time I have seen one of these since Obama left Boscombe Down in 2014. http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?128150-SPOTTED-2014/page12
Today I passed The Pheasant pub a couple of miles from the site of RAF Membury, was this pub an airmen’s refuge?
How will this ever fly in the UK? I thought the CAA didn’t allow ex military fighting aircraft to fly.
Anybody know of any pubs in Amesbury (Boscombe Down)?
Two aircraft were retained by the MOD for training purposes. One is at the RN Air Engineering & Survival School, Gosport and one is at RAF Wittering in Lincolnshire.
At least the navy still fly them.
On Monday whilst in Gosport I saw a grey and red Sea King flying followed shortly after by an all over grey ‘King, today whilst driving on the A32 I spotted an Arctic camo Sea King gate guard at the Defence Munitions Gosport camp.
It’s nice they’ve not completely disappeared yet! 😀
I’m not sure if this counts but earlier today whilst driving in Portsmouth I passed two trucks (obviously) each towing a large trailer with AIRBUS Aircraft Wings Transport written on them.
Excellent news, let’s hope it retains a camo scheme.
I was hoping for the GW1 desert pink.
I went to Beale Park today and saw this replica.
Admittedly not a complete Spitfire but the original main wheel from the only aircraft to have fought in the Battle of Britain still flying P3750, on display at the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection, Old Sarum airfield.
Stunning picture Paul!
