Now on to the newest member of the Tu-204 family….. its not actually a Tu-204 family but is somehow based on the Tu-204 Family.

This is the Tu-330 ,meant for military transport in addition to other cargo and for civilian use too. This is the the second contender for the worls military transport market along with A-400, C-130J and the other being the MTA which is a collobaration between Irkut and HAL based on Ilyushin IL-214

but in reality the A-400 and Tu-330 would be of the same class (payload wise, 30+) and MTA and C-130 in another (18-20+) …

The Tu-330 uses has got two engine option unlike the civilian one with PS-90A and NK-93 Propfan engine, a new one for any (?) aircraft

here are some pictures of the Tu-330 with the first and 3rd showing the PS-90A configuration and the second one showing the NK-93 Propfan mounted configuration and the NK-93 propfan

The Tu-334 seems to have a very short landing gear even by western standards! Aren’t they affraid this wil cause damage on the underside when using badly maintained runways? There are still a lot of those in the CIS and they are gonna be likely destinations for the Tu-334.

here is another view of Tu-334, this shows comparatively more to that clearance for the underbell with that short landing gears

    ——————————————

    TU-204-300: TEST FLIGHT TO VLADIVOSTOK

Vladivostok has solemnly welcomed an arrival of a long-range Tu-204-300 airplane. This is the first flight of the new model to the capital of the Primorskiy territory which brought aircraft designers from Tupolev company, representatives of the Aviastar-SP and of leasing company Ilyushin Finance and Co., with the help of which Vladivostok Avia company is going to acquire four such airplanes. The first of these machines is to be put in commercial service in as early as December this year. Another three will be put in operation step-by-step during the first half of 2005.

Chief designer of the Tupolev Co. Lev Lanovsky told a news conference that this nonstop flight between Moscow and Vladivostok has proved in practice the Tu-204-300 capability to overcome such long distances with full payload capacity. The given aircraft type will allow Vladivostok Avia to perform nonstop flights from the capital of the Primorie territory to Moscow and St. Petersburg.

    mod’ed

well that said how much do u say is a close combat radius???,… the limit was set at 20nm for BVR if I’m not wrong, and no one is gonna get a advantage with their close combat potential at that one … and I don think the F-15s were at a disadvantage, as both had their BVR weapons and they both were set at a max of 20nm for attacking and 18nm for defending (if am not wrong) … that means no one has been favoured.

again how come the MiG-29 came in the exercieses???….. it was talked earlier that they were not included in the exercises and now suddenly they seems to have appeared ….

and what the hell is the other article speaking abt grey market bison kits etc etc…. that article itself should have been thrown to bin first of all …
