ha ha, that’s one insane piece of logic there and also indicates your silly greed. The PAF itself is no where near 1/3rd of the IAF’s capability so do you really think you people will get more funds if the PAF, which could’nt dream about inflicting any sort of damage, gets better fighters? I guess the IAF is buying killer a/c like the Su-30 to counter BVRless MiG-21 clones? What more do you want than the Su-30MKI? F-22s?
well thats not grred man….. thats what will happen if the pakistanis don have any good stuff… r u an Indian???……. just the mention of the Mushy of cutting 50,000 troops have resulted in indian newspapers full of articles calling for reciprocation or atleast the call for ‘lowering’ the troops, forgeting the fact that just yrs ago Indian Army had reduced its numbers.. but the idoits don get that and in one go ask for more to cut, rather than taking that this 50,000 is the reciprocality of the Pakistani side for an earlier Indian cut….
so thats it man …. u call it greed??….. as an Indian I call ist the basic necessity ….. u call it BS??… i call it Basic Statistic …… if the rate of peace doves thats hatching now and the ‘seasoned’ ones are to be taken into acount then the 190 MKI wont see light and LCA wud be lucky to make 100 …. leaving that aide, i’d not like India just be confined to pakistan as has been what US has been tryong to do all these yrs and so do China coz of its ‘occupation’ … and yes for a build -up to meet any evantuality i need a reason and Pakistan offers me with that GOOD REASON!
Vympel,
How does it look better? It’s paint-scheme isn’t as good, and it’s completely unarmed. Otherwise, there’s very little difference.
well u see the front fuselage, the nose section has been reduced of that sharp line and is more a curved one…. and also the landing gear, the Yak still is looking up ward when static and i don like that a bit, and so is this case with the MiG-29’s…. it feels me like am looking at a duck, with the engine like the duck tail a bit above the ground … i want that to be also raised, but then thats the only complaint that I’ve regarding the MiG-29 though … as for the M-346, the Italians have made both the ‘legs’ of equal size so that its not wondering looking up when on static display ….
Srbin,
yes Italian ones wud be definetel highers and thats what comes into advantage for the Russians, i’d not like to see the Italians take the market thats meant for the yak-130 and the Russian need to see that they market it more actively and seal the fate of the Hawk 😀 …. as the single most important point in their marketing the the long list of nations that have choosen the Hawk ….. well thats also the case with F-16 and american AAM’s too….
which plane PLA?
need help in distinguishing the Klub-series —-
3M-14E land attack Club from 3M-54E1 sub-sonic Anti-ship missile
&
3M-54E Anti-ship supersonic cruise missile from 3M-51 air-launch version of the same …
what yemeni AF buying MiG-29M2??…. or did u mean the Algerian AF? … anyway it seems like bad days are over for RAC-MiG and thats good to hear
and this one the Russian NVG goggles
GEO−ONV2 night vision goggles – In 2002 the Center (Geophizika-NV), using Gen III tube technologies, developed new low-profile binocular night-vision goggles, the GEO-ONV2, for helicopter crews offering a direct observation capability. Currently a brass board model of the goggles has been fabricated and started its tests. Binoculars have a field of view of 40 deg., whereas direct observation ensures FOV 120 deg. x 80 deg.
well this is not the latest news , just copied it from the article… 🙂
no its from Aerospace Complex
well there is just one more pic left … so am posting that too … thats of TOES-520
TOES−520 is a wide-FOV system intended to pilot helicopters under low visibility conditions or at night, this has been reported to have ben considered by Spain for their helos and talks on delivery, don know much abt that …
Btw, France was part of the EF project at the beginning, but after workshare negotiations failed, France decided to go it alone.
(France wanted 50% of the total workshare, buying only 30% of the aircrafts)
but don u think thats afair one??.who else had that much infrastructure as the French in building and that 50% and 30% don match .coz what France can buy is what they want and not 50% coz they wanted 50% of the work…what do u say abt the British part of that whats the percentage of that??…… ate they buying 50% of the a/c?
k here is a small mention abt the Alpha and this is the one supposed cancelled one…
NPO Mashinostroyenia was less willing to speak about its next generation missiles. In 1997 it revealed its “ALPHA” concept which featured a more flexible lower fuselage air intake, but officials say that program has ended. While a NPO Mash official acknowledged that they did have advanced missile programs he would not divulge details. NPO Mash is known to have a hypersonic missile program that may utilize advanced “Plasma Stealth” technology, which uses an ionized gas cloud in the radome to absorb radar signals. The Russian Gromov Research Institute continues with hypersonic research programs
Recent press reports indicate that the new SOVREMENNIYs will be instead armed with a new 200km range version of the Raduga MOSKIT. So far the longest range version of this M 2.5-M 3 speed missile is 120km. A Raduga official acknowledged that the new version existed but that it was a “company funded” initiative and would not comment on sales to China. In addition, he would not comment on whether the new higher range was achieved by having a smaller warhead or a larger engine. The MOSKIT is very deadly because it combines a large warhead with such high speed as to devastate most smaller ships and also cause significant damage to larger ships. While the contract to build the SOVREMENNIY destroyers has been a matter of embarrassing controversy in Russia since early 2002, press report just before MAKS indicate that those issues have been settled and that construction will proceed.
What kind of GOES sensor is that on the chin? GOES-324?
is it not GOES-342??….. or am i wrong?
GOES (Gyro Stabilized Electro-Optical System) −342 provides round-the-clock surveillance and the aiming capability to fire guided missiles. It incorporates a field-of-view stabilization system, a TV channel, a Module-Avia thermal imaging channel, a laser rangefinder and a direction finder.
The GOES-342 system weighs 185 kg and its EO device measures 460 mm x 613 mm. It incorporates a field-of-view stabilization system, a TV channel, a Module-Avia thermal imaging channel, a laser rangefinder and a direction finder. Sighting in azimuth is provided in a range of +/-230 deg., in elevation -from -115 deg. to +25 deg.
GOES-520 is a day/night surveillance system intended for terrain surveillance, search and acquisition of landmarks and obstacles. The system weighs 45 kg and its EO device measures 350 mm x 500 mm. It includes a low-level TV and a thermal imaging channels and provides sighting in a range of +/-180 deg. in azimuth and from -85 deg. To +35 deg. in elevation.
Glenn,
Blackcat,
The picture shows SM-3 missile coverage of Japan against ballistic missiles (BM) from North Korea. Because the SM-3 intercepts the BM in mid course the coverage is wide provided you have your destroyers positioned right as depicted in the picture (i.e. a picket line).
so that does not mean that that coverage is as shown in that pic with the 2 ships positioned .and is w.r.t the positioning of the ships in and around the islands … and yup what i meant with that one was does the SM-3 have such a good range.
Hyperwrap ,
tks for that links and info…so this does mean that it outstrips the Russian S-300s , right??
hope that figures are for the SM-3 version??>….and how much has been its effciency? …
but that also proves that who is the real Leader in Europe (if Russia is not considered) and also if the Frecnh had not done it , the world wud have been denied of such a beauty ….
and yup sure Frecnh sud go ahead with the carriers and that for sure gaurantees the Rafales numbers (but for the carrier money sud be made sure) and ….. the future probable markets ae ofcourse who have oil in their backyards…. and thats Iraq after 2010, Lybia etc ….. and Libya cid be a fine stop , but they wud be more inclined to go in for the Russian ones as they are cheaper and offer comparable performance and the other being Iraq, for which the Nobel men have already started to pave the way for dumping their military wares , so b4 that happens Frecnh can make some headway …. but not b4 all is selltled down in Iraq….. btw can some one give a little more info on the Saudi and rafale connection…
Oh tks for that Ken … but i suppose that chap has some black hair though, anyway lots of info 🙂 …
k but abt the IL-38’s featured in here.whats the thing on the top?? ….. and got any pic of the upgrades for the IN’s IL-38 and also little more info on the upgrades as such and the pic of the operating room and consoles (not the drawing thats widely available) ….
TTL = Total Technical Life = Service life ?
yeah, but i considered it as Total Take-off and landing….. am not surewhich is the correct term…as one take-off and landinf is considered as a cycle …. like the said abt the Russian rejection of the MiG-AT coz the engine featured low life cycles of 1200 or something…. BTW nice pic of the AL-55….
and just few more questions… does the employment of the AL-55 mean that the IJT is already big enough in its engine bay??… and the Larzec is a Big unit as the AL-31??…. and and if not wud not the IJt need tooling in placing the AL-55 and make it delayed??
tks for that garry, but i was thinking how do they do these, mean in one model they arrange it differently and that mean rewoprking etc etc, so how come they manage all these considering the financial constraints …. coz after all there are not many SMT upgrades models to be shown ?? …. but which one is the cockpit of the SMT thats been in the MAKS 03 meant as the upgrade for the yemeni AF …..
