So far the Vulcan failed to meet 50% of it’s planned appearances is the more important part of that statement.

    Chox,

why do i get the feeling when i read your posts that you are only to enlighten the negative things in life instead of seeing a large amount of positive things. These days aren’t as colorfull as a couple of years back due to the economic crisis / enviroment issues / 9-11 / etc. etc…. So we should be happy that there are still airshows being held…

The economic crisis has a big impact on alot of countries… alot airforces have a tight budget these days and have to be very carefull to spend their money… Here in The Netherlands there are rumours that they are going to replace our RNLAF Opendays that’s held once a year into one event every THREE YEARS!!!… You can say that’s one BIG BUDGET CUT… So stop moaning about how bad every airshow in the UK is organised and if it was up to you you would make it an event with alot of exotic things (i know your not saying that literaly)…

Just wait and see, some good things turn up next year or the year after that….

    Grtz.

Where shall is start (sorry guys first RIAT ever)

It was a great show and a really good static… Although the Sea Vixen was quite a misser in the display indeed… (was hoping to see that one finally now, thank god i had 400 MM so i took a decent photograph of it)…

But someone could have told me that there was going to be a stripsearch… didn’t know that (had 20KG of packaging with me for every weathertype available, took quite a while to pack it in and out)….

I could sprinkle a bit of Dutch “gras” on the dux soil and then it should be dry… Don’t blame me if it still rains, then the “gras” is held back by the costums 😉

    Just jokin’ offcourse 😀

It will be fine… according to some forcasts i viewed

    i’ve got the next list

    Warbirds Allies

1 Spitfire (aint straight in the head if you don’t like the looks:dev2:)
And Mustang (it’s just isn’t fair to name either one as number 1)
    2 Hurricane (It’s the eternal 2nd although it’s a wonder
3 P-38 Lighting (If i had seen it more often it would have been a number 1 i think)
4 Yak-3 (i’ve had the pleasure of see this one a few times and im realy impressed by it’s power and agility, to bad it is a bit stall sensitive and you realy have to work hard with this machine)

    Warbirds Axxis

1 Messerschmitt BF-109 (It’s an icon what can i say although pretty tricky on Take-Offs and Landings)
2 Mitsubishi A6M Zero (Although this aircraft wasn’t as powerfull as the rest, it shure was a handfull for the USAF pilots)
    3 well i don’t have a number 3 actually 😀

    Jets Allies

1 Hawker Hunter (well it’s sexy and it’s a Jet)
2 F-86 Sabre (one of the first realy succesfull export aircraft that could fly faster then the speed of sound)
3 Gloster Meteor (a real nice looking aircraft but wasn’t as advanced for it’s days in compare off the above mentioned 2)

    Jets Axxis
1 Messeschmitt Me-262 (The first Jet that saw war action, i wouldn’t have imagined what happend if the Germans won the war with this aircraft)
    2 Mig-15 (A nice counterpart of the F-86)
    3 Well i don’t have a Number 3 with this one Actually

But i would like to give the Vulcan an honourary mention because she did amazed me at Volkel and im realy impressed with the fact that the person who drew the Lancaster, also drew the Vulcan… That’s what i call a skilled people 😉

@ smiler558, Thanks for the info and i hope that every other event will commence as plan.. It’s good to know that the crew and groundcrew made the effort to try to fly at waddington. Give MP my regards and tell him that im still looking forward to Fairford although this little glitch came up :).

Some things doesn’t go as they were planned and some people do forget that a machine can have a malfunction or in this case a paperwork issue. That’s the way of aviation, there isn’t anything certain until the last minute…
