    VX,
May I suggest you go over to Wixs and search on their for the thread on WL790 I do believe that they do plan on running the engine but I’m not sure. There is a person on Wixs who is one of the lead Vol. and he post stuff at PIMA allot you can search for him by just hitting PIMA in the search engine. If anyone I think he might have the true story.

I might be heading to D-M sometime i the next few weeks if so I’ll pop over to PIMA and see if I can get some new photos it all depends on if I get the Ok to recover a certain aircraft at D-M.

Oh and yes I got your PMs will send you somethig later in the day

OK: Just where is Justin lying through his teeth? I have read the WIX thread and there are only two posts that are apparently from him, both quoted and read like news articles.

First Justin claimed that these were illegal recovery’s which they weren’t as I said I know that this project has been in the works for over 20 Years. next he said he was only fined 108USD which in fact wasn’t even close to the Truth try 108,000 USD. Next he was already convict of entering the Area back in the late 90s and was told not to come back.

I have my reservations about whether the group realy did ‘stumble’ across this salvage. It seems clear to me that they objected to the removal of the wrecks, as he/they did to the Swamp Ghost affair. As to the legality of the sale, well I think we can all guess how laws can be interpreted by the wealthy and powerful.

It was legal they have workout the paperwork with the National and Local Governments and have the blessing of the Chief.

Watching the YouTube video really took me back. As someone said, you need some translation – ‘Stacka’ = lots (apparently after the stacks of Coka Cola imported for the GI’s in WWII); mefella/himfella – me or him; lo = on.

What did not need translating was that the chiefs are not happy about the removal of these airframes, which they consider relics of the war. The argumement that they are valuable tourist attractions is nonsense to me, this is such a difficult place to get to and move around in that the number of foriengers visiting must have been minimal. However, I agree with the sentiment that the complete removal of the items robs the island of evidence of a war the cost the locals very dearly.

Well the Youtube is nice but actually the Chief is very happy about the aircraft leaving because he nows is going to get some very much need improvements to the Village which the money is helping also there are more aircraft to be recovered which the CHIEF showed the group.

I have gone out on a limb in the past (over the Swamp Ghost) and aligned myself with Justins feelings that these wrecks should be left in situ for the locals and future tourists to enjoy.

You and Justin are very wrong on Swamp Ghost the one thing that the late David Tallichet told me is that he regreted that he didn’t recover it first when he had the time. Its the only know Bendix turret 17 left intact in the World. Two years ago it was threaten by a Grass fire that was less the 1/2 mile away more aircraft have been loss to Grass Fire in the PNG over the past 20 years then to scrap drives during the same time.

However, in the case of these planes I believe that there is a valid arguement for their removal and restoration. They would just rot alone in the jungle where they were, and they are not common aircraft. BUT the local population MUST be compensated both financially, and with some form of memorial in place of the planes. The government should not be the only ones to benefit. Although I am sure that the money raised will be ploughed back into healthcare projects for the islanders….:o

There is going to be a historical center build showing the history of the are in reguard to WWII, maybe you should wait till all the fact come out on this recovery or you can just go and believe the dribble that Justin sputs out all the time. As for what the Village is going to get I’m not sure of everything but I do know that the Health Center is going to be rebuild and that the roads are going to be improved.

So who want to know the truth about the whole mess, just ask away since I know most of the inside items. If you care to read some of the stuff that Jungle Bob put up on Wixs and I put up here about the Aircraft that were recovered and how long this project has been in the works and how Justin is lying thru his teeth just ask away.

I think flex’s point is that it is in your self interest. Face it: you’ve hardly any oil at all and domestic production has been falling for years. Driving around in a V8 4×4 SUV, the overwhelming majority of which never so much as see gravel, much less going off road, burning 4x as much gas as the aforementioned Golf (which also probably has more cargo volume), purely as a fashion statement, doesn’t make a lot of sense.

The only reason you are involved with the economic and social disaster area that is the muslim world is because that is where the oil is, hence the expeditionary wars that are bankrupting your economy and the rest of the western world with it. From this point of view, I would expect that every self-respecting patriot would be jumping on the conservation bandwagon.

Actually we have allot of Domestic Oil left the problem is we have a bunch of Enviro Wennies who won’t let anyone drill for it, but these are the same folks who drive around in SUV and fly Corp Jets. As for your little Golf yea right its going to be able to haul the 36 Sheets of Plywood I purchase today and tow the flatbed I used to move my T-6D project get real.

As for your second statement do your really believe the crap you type really now last time I look the So-Called Expeditionary Wars were on Terror not Oil, if it was on Oil then why the Hell didn’t we just go in at the end of the Gulf War. Oh and don’t give me the long and drawn out reason that we all have heard. It has nothing to do with Oil you and I both know that but you folks in Europe just keep thinking that the next time the Muslim start riots in France or Murder a Writer or threaten anyone who speak ill of there So-Call almighty Mohamad the fake:mad:

Some clueless muppet has recently joined the Van Nuys CAP sqdn (Condor Sqdn, all T6’s) & claims to have “a Tigercat sat in my backyard that no one knows about & it’s not in any of the books”

.. in the middle of Los Angeles….

    ZRX61,

Their might be some truth to that rumor, while I was going thru allot of David Tallichets papers I came across a referrance to at least two Tiger Cats Fus. that have never been on any list. Don’t forget David purchase allot of the MGM stuff up in the early 80s and one of the list I’ve seen shows at least on Tiger Cat on it.

I recall a certain rumor about a F-6 in barn and everyone said it wasn’t true but Butch went and look and guess what he found an intact F-6 that had never been Demilled.

Alright sorry been away for work(recovering a T-6D). Back tot he topic,

As for the Air Power build up when did I say that we would send the stuff to the Middle East huh. Lets see move the B-1s to NAS Rota Spain and England. Station more B-52 at Deago Garcia bring in another 5 to 8 would not be a big blip on anyones radar. We also send a few USMC Hornets to the Middle East we do it all the time. As for the CBG we already have one on Station in the Med. and one in the Indain Ocean it wouild take 72 hour to have another 2 or 3 on Station in either teh Med. or Red Sea with that amount of fire power we would knock out their Air Force and Air Defence in 24 hours.

Who really knows how many Subs are on Patrol in the Region but i’m guessing at least 5-8 are already on Station.

As for the Political target we would hit them with are first strike, what you really don’t think our Intel doesn’t know were these folks live and work.

As for the Harden Site please their is no such thing as an bomb proof Harden Site anymore see what we did to the Iraqi’s Harden Sites. Beside who care all we really have to do is take out their runways and ramp areas and they are shut down.

As for them being more Democratic then the United States yea right when was the last time we exucuted someone for being gay answer me that one folks.

You’d need weeks of deploying the aircraft to the area. Iranians would, of course, notice such large deployment of forces and after evaluation of not having any chance to withstand they would simply conceal their most precious assets to underground hangars. I’d say you’d hardly find targets for your missiles except for civilian ones. What would you do, then?

Remove the Political Structor and beside there are many underground hangers or harden site that we can’t destroy, see Iraq as an example.

Also we could do the build up with out causing to much alarm.

But then again as I said everyone has been making comment on attacking the Military Asset and that is fine and dandy but that won’t change anything you need to eleminated the Political System. Which most of you folks seem to not get.

You’re suggesting an attack using nuclear weapons?

Its not off the table, with that said if your going to attack Iran with None Nuclear Weapons then you need to remove not only the Military but the Political System at the same time or all you have done is just credit more problems. See the First Gulf War for example.
