i think the 24 for aussie are out of lot 26 usn run they are all said to be the same and ours have 79’s
which indicates the whole ‘lot’ will have 79’s thats based on lot 26 is the lot they are building now and i dont know how long its been running or what the total run number is

I was of the impression that lot 26 started in 2006 (deliveries), so I doubt that any of the Aussie SHs are from that lot.

Ok this is the second comment which says I should not have opened the thread. I did it because.

1. The Blog Post on the Eurofighter site trumpeting its victory over the F-15C is very recent, It has been under heated debate in several other fora, but I did not see it being posted here.

2. I did look for the typhoon thread and DACT thread to see if the initial report was posted, because it was not instead of posting that and the rebuttal I started a new thread with links to the article in question as well.

The issue was largely covered in the UAE ATLC F-22 vs Rafale vs Typhoon thread.

India was first export customer (1984-86, I think) and I don’t think they have received any birds in mid 90s.

If you google it you get some hits, which suggest that India received 10 MiG-29s in 1995 supposley SDs.

IIRC India received some MiG-29SD (9.12SD) Fulcrum A in the mid 90s. These should be capable to use the R-77/RVV-AE as they feature the improved N-019M Topaz.

It’s more about improving pilot skills and tactics. While large scale exercises are mostly aimed at interoperability etc. as well, DACT is not necessarily about systems and interoperability.

Thanks for the info. Wasn’t the last prediction 29th december? They seem to like that number 29. But it appears to be really difficult to filter useful information.

My source are on paper not on a website. But I cannot scan them actually (I’m more than 9000km away from home, are, and I have a lot of work to do before going back…). But it’s was official information given to the MOD (UK) by ratheon, so I think these informations are credible.

And more than 180km, as you say, is not credible. Meteor don’t claim that, and it’s propulsed by a ramjet…

120km, in other hand, is quite credible. Inferior to the range provided by extrems solution (ramjet like meteor, or big missile like R37), but way more than all classic competitor.

Certainly depends on what the range refers to exactly RMax or just the typical engagement range which varies depending on the conditions and is often much lower than the stated RMax.
