There has to be a place at the Kemble show for this aircraft………..t’would be a fitting return if I’m not mistaken???
17 toilets for 8,000 people (guestimate!) was always going to catch a few people out…………………..
Albert,
Surely you remember the Green Barrows from the Lyneham families days
4 x C130 complete with a fan break finale!!!!
Arthur Gibson………..
Depends what side of PA your are staying in? Near Pittsburg in the West or Harrisburg in the East?
Wrong! They were there until 1983 when they moved to Scampton, so this bloke has had 7 years of Red Arrows practising!
And after it must have been around 10 years of USAFE into the 1990’s at Kemble with F5,F4,A10,F16,F15 & C130’s to name but a few???? Is that right Albert????
Worse that that. The complainant is well known, and he is a professional pilot that has moved to the area. Retired IIRC.
Moggy, it’s even worse than you think, the moaner is an ex RAF Flt Lt and BMid pilot who bought his house near Kemble in 1976! He retired just about a year ago but apparently his complaining started before that. Check out the Flyer forum for more.
In answer to the original question attached is a pic of a VC10 on the dump at Kemble. Found on a google search…….any help?
Patriots Point…………..that’s the place I was trying to think of………USS Yorktown is the carrier if I remember rightly and well worth a visit.
Mid Atlantic Air Museum at Reading, PA, is worth a trip. Last time I was there they were in the process of restoring a P61 Black Widow to airworthiness. A B25 and DC3 are also based there.
Charleston AFB, South Carolina, has a few preserved airframes at the entrance and also not far away is a berthed carrier museum with all manner of exotic types static all displayed on deck and below.
Hope this helps…………..
Hawker Hunter Aviation operate Hunters, a Sukhoi S22 and now the Bucc to participate in training with the RAF and others, to save the cost of using modern aircraft. Thay also do airshow appearances – a Bucc flying UK airshows would be very welcome…
How often do these aircraft fly from Scampton? Love to see the SU22 in the air, I have only ever seen one of their Hunters. Presumably they depart out to the ranges for their threat simulation work with the RAF.
Your Hunter 50th DVD was stunning Steve……………..more of the same, the background and build up up was so cool, much better than the John Nichol version. They must have purchased footage from your self for that programme?
Thanks for all the input chaps.
Can I take it that we have:-
G-MOUR……..Yellowjack
G-TIMM……..Red Arrows
G-FRCE………Red Arrows
G-RORI………4FTS
Are there any more active in the UK or would this be now the definitive list????
Thanx for the posts chaps. I agree fantastic looking jets. Attached is a pic of G-MOUR taken just recently. Can any of you put any other names to faces so to speak? I remember G-FRCE being in an all blue scheme more than several years ago and G-TIMM used to be in a silver scheme. Are they still flying and in what livery?
So are we currently at 4 flyers so far in the UK??
Albert, treat it as just a rehearsal for next years Kemble show!!!
Sorry chaps but I have recently just stumbled across this thread. I have been very impressed with all the work that has gone on here. Just to add a bit more to scene, below are combined extracts form both the Station Diary and the OAPU ORB’s from Kemble around the time of the incident.
