    I hear cows in Nigeria are often in trouble for Public Moosance offences! I think its about time Nigeria took the Bull by the Horns and did something about it. Maybe this silly old cow got confused between the bus driver and milkman’s uniforms!

    Grey, although the idea sounds good I’m worried about the fact that if we HAVE to post orders into these topics then we may loose the ability to have focused dicussions about individual orders. I mean I’m not a big fan of the A vs. B discussions that sometimes get carried away I have to admit, but I think that these ‘order’ threads could end up huge, and if there are multiple airlines ordering within days of each other then the topic threads will get VERY confused if we try to hold all discussions related to aircraft orders in there. It also means that if you log in you will potetentially have to trawl through the thread for the news..I think one of the main benefits of the individual threads is that you can scroll your mouse over the title for an overview before deciding if you want to read the whole thread. For me it is less of an issue because I have access to online publications, but these are expensive and I only use them because they are paid for by my company. For those who do not have access to this information they may rely on the forum for fast news, because if you wait for Flight International or Airliner World to come out then you may be at least a week behind the news, and by then to make comment in the forum is difficult.

    I know where you are coming from with the idea. But I’m more tempted to say that the mods may be better off just deleting any posts which have a whiff of A vs B. What you have to remember is that sometimes some of these posts which appear to be A vs B are fully justified comments and areas of discussion…for example, why shouldn’t someone question why one type was chosen when the other appears to be a more logical choice. This is particularly the case when somebody does not have a detailed knowledge, it is not necessarily an A/B battle.

    Sorry to be a pain..just a view.

    I’m getting the impression that those with an interest in aviation also tend to be cat lovers…as there are quite a few of them creeping into here. Does anyone (apart from me??) have any other type of pet?

    Heard it this Morning on Radio 5 live wake up to money, had the CEO of flyBE on there who was quite upbeat untill he heard the price of crude oil was going to surpass the $54 a barrel mark again

    Also on the programme today…BAA announced plans for a 3rd runway and Terminal 6 at Heathrow, which will go for public/planning consultation in October.
    i dont want to come over a bit thick….but where could they possibly put a 3rd runway and a Terminal 6….it all looks a little cramped on the existing site as it is…

    Are you COMPLETELY unaware that here in the UK an Aviation White Paper was published by the Government? In the consultationm and work leading to the White Paper many options for development of airports in the UK were covered, subsequently the Government decided which schemes it felt were necessary for long term development of the airports in this country.

    One part of this was that the Government supported a 3rd runway at LHR (subject to planning and environmental issues), which will be North of the existing north runway an North of the A4. If you look at http://www.dft.gov.uk you will probably find the layout as proposed for the White paper.

    [QUOTE=Sameer]kev
    I do notknow what company you deal with because customer service calls tend to be FREE OF CHARGE. The call centre which I supervised had call times of 2 minutes, surely generalizations are for the…

    I’m not sure who you worked for, but calls to a lot of customer service numbers in the UK are NOT free, key examples of numbers I use:

    HSBC 0845 National Rate (is that 4.4p/minute?)
    O2 25p/min (even though I’m on wopping contract!)
    Wanadoo 0845 National Rate
    Npower 0845 National Rate

    As for 2 minute call times, I very rarely make calls to customer service numbers which last 2 mins, and my example of the efficieny difference between talking to someone who can spell ‘farm’ and somebody who needs it spelt 2/3 times illustrates that most of my calls to indian call centres have never made it under the 20minute barrier!
