I suppose we should be glad that the Dutch authorities take an interest at all, unlike the MOD, but I absolutely understand why it rankles with you  Cees. It would boil my blood too.

A decent weekend. A Beech Expeditor over Bloxham, and over Horspath today an Islander,  Stampe-type biplane travelling extremely slowly, a Stearman, a P51 and a pair of Spitfires.

How the hell did that tree not kill the lot of them? From the moment of touchdown, their guardian angel was doing overtime!

Indeed, Hypersonic. I can’t imagine that the pilot chose a strip that short without a real need, so from here it  looks as though they made the best of a very sticky situation, plus a bit of luck. 

Another good spotting day. Two Chipmunks over Stanton St John and, almost simultaneously, Puss Moth G-AAZP heading in the opposite direction. Then another Chippy, and what might have been a Jungmann in the far distance – certainly a close-coupled biplane making a lovely noise.

ETA – forgot what I think was an Auster rather than a cub as well.

Startled to see a Britten-Norman Islander over Didcot, especially as I was reading a news article on Orkney & Shetland when I heard it first.
