Jungmann spotted over New Marston, Oxford, 7.30ish last night – colours uncertain as silhouetted against a hazy sky.
Random thought – anyone fly a Jungmeister in the UK?

Earls Colne last mentioned nearly 2 years ago on this thread, has the memorial below which i noted as I popped in today.
Sorry to butt in late – been on holidays!
I had a spate of airfield visiting in about 1994-5, and at the time there was a large memorial with a P51 on a black marble/granite background at the entrance from the road – just off the A120, IIRC. I last went back 3-4 years ago, and it had gone. Anyone know what happened to it?
And does anyone know what happened to the Rebel Air Museum’s collection that was there? I believe it closed shortly after their founder died, and know nothing more. Amongst other things they had 8-odd feet of B26 rear fuselage – I suspect the biggest Marauder remnant in the UK.

Especially love the first, with the halcyon days sun over the wing!
If you are still using film, try some Efke/Adox stuff for 1950s tonal values – very nice effects possible. If not… well, just make ’em look like the above and we’ll lap ’em up!

😮 😮 😮
Blimey!

As neither appear to be particularly thick on the ground at this moment in time is it safe to assume XP924 will have a particularly quiet display season in 2007? Such a terrible, terrible shame.
Never mind, Nick, we must all be happy because she is in the right colours. Which IIRC when the Red Bull scheme appeared first was more important to some people than seeing her fly…:diablo:

On a whim I entered ‘Stork Hotel Guestbook’ into Google.

Aaah, the old Google sponsored ads! I remember googling for “Sandy” Sandeman-Allen (a Guinea-pig, fact fans) and getting one that read something like:
“Visit Sandy, the blonde porn star!”
As it was a work PC, I refrained from further investigation of what no doubt was not a DeHavilland Canada Beaver…

I thought that the U2’s were initially allocated to Wethersfield, I notice AG sniffing about on this thread so he may be able to confirm it. I went over there a few times and they were well hidden, never saw a thing, the only confirmation was from the good old Brainless and Witless Times.
After they departed the Wattisham Phantoms were in residence for a while as their runway was being reconstructed, is that right AG.
I recall Phantoms there, but I’d need to check my Action Stations to confirm U2s. I know I never saw one, but that means nowt.

Trust me its not all its cracked up to be!!
Sadly, having investigated various alternative careers, the salary is one of the reasons I’m still doing the same thing! Rain I can live with, but I’ve had a fat salary for too long now… That and two years retraining at vast expense to earn less afterwards of course… But enough of my whining!

Oi, just because I sit in an office at Boscombe dosen’t mean I work there! 😀
Does your boss know that? :diablo:

I spotted the Dakota flying low over Finchingfield heading south at about 16:30 yesterday, unfortunately the sun was behind it and I couldn’t make out the markings or even the colour scheme, anyone have any more info.
Seeing as you’ve identified the Spitfire the rest of the family saw over Little Sampford, I’ll ID the DAK for you. Post-war RAF markings, with the serial KK116 under the wings. Looked and sounded lovely – got the whole family away from the Boat Race!

Just to throw in a leg-break (that’s like a curveball, for those across the pond), while you are worrying about Phantoms and the like there is a Hunter at the fire brigade training school at Moreton-in-the-Marsh. Looks very forlorn, with no nosewheel.
Just thought you’d like to knowe.

Just posted it to Yak 11 Fan. Forgot the paperwork, but as Trumper was the last name on it, is that a problem? If it is, I’ll post that on tomorrow!
