It’s worth pointing out that fatalities in the construction industry have been in decline ever since the passing of the ‘Elfin Safety At Work act in 1974. See ‘ere: http://www.hse.gov.uk/Statistics/industry/construction/index.htm

I guess if you are happy for people to not wear a hi-vis and come home in a box… I wouldn’t mention it round Aberdeen University either – one of the buildings collapsed under construction killing several workers.

No, I’m talking stripping out the modern additions. OK, that includes theT2, but that would at least be reasonably in keeping.

Smashing pic of the Spitfire in the hangar – if my Photoshop skills were up to it, I’d be getting stuck into the background as we speak!

What’s the straight wing with black crosses in the background? Looks too butch to be Storch…

Fascinating to see replicas with rotary engines as well – would love to read a comparison of handling with radial and rotary for something like the Dr1!

Dunno, but I’d love to see a better pic of that colour scheme!

    Awesome Scooter pics! 😎
Now here is a very rare sight:

OK…. what on earth is that? Aha! A wild guess throws up another pic… which links to the same one, on this forum!

Anyone recognise the background in the Lanc pic – could it be a Lincolnshire airfield near the Wolds?

It’s the otters in hangar 3 that you really need to worry about

    Worse – there’s Beaver! http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?107035-Duxford-Beaver-Airborne

I don’t know who books aeroplanes into Headcorn (a parish that collected two Bf109s during 1940, a very appropriate place for a BoB show), but I admire their ability. I will freely confess that last summer, as I watched a sight I had never thought I’d see begin its run in (I’m sure you can guess what I refer to), I was blinking back the tears.

Who on earth had the chutzpah to book the Lancasters for an event of that size? Whoever you are, I take my hat off!

    Nice Beaver!

Sounds as though most of us missed a really interesting “do”.

It is not unknown for an agency to launch a campaign knowing that it will be objected to. By the time the process has run there will be all the normal exposure and the added PR from its ‘banning’.

Or, to describe this in three words, “Shepherd Neame – Spitfire”. I’m sure you all know what I mean…

Fraid not, though more likely to have been Ford End than Good Easter -probably on the Bartrupt family’s land.

I’ve seen one or two before, but most are new to me too.
At least three are post war – the target tug pics (is that an Athena or a Balliol I see behind the Tempest?) and the Dutch Sea Fury – in that case, it’s a David Brown VAK1 or VAK1A behind! – and I’m sure there are more (eg the woman in the Spitfire), but they’re all still interesting. Some unusual types too – the AW Ensign, I think, and the Vengeances for starters.

I love the briefing on the back of the Auster… but am a bit alarmed by the coffin lid access to the Boston cockpit!

I’m not convinced the chap in the cockpit has quite got the right idea…:D
