His general recommendation would be to use as much force as possible at cheapest possible cost,
while causing as much devastation as can be done in every way,
he would definitely have been a promoter of nukes
I say 2 first are correct, but a man dressed in tight leggings promoting nukes..I doubt it..he would have turned into a gardener after the first nukelar test. Mumbling suntin like; who needs tacticians when u can wipe out everything with just one blast.
Nukes are somewhat dangerous to their users too..I mean the cloud can come and go and harm the user too…and if there is a chance the one used upon might retaliate…and so on…btw have you gone picking mushrooms lately…I hear they are ready to be picked from the forests now.
:eagerness:
In an era where aircraft had to close to within ~ <200 metres to have a reasonable chance of a kill.
200 metres =/= 20 miles
I’m sure Sun Tzu would have something good to say about focussing all your forces on only one aspect of the fight to the detriment of others…
Right and therefore you don’t need even a plane as capable as Ju-87 Stuka to do the job…DC-3 could launch missiles or Mi-8 or even Cessna-172 from 20 miles from target right ?
Something really small and resistent to small arms fire that it would not be detected aesily and shot down by the random soldiers and armoured cars in the battle field. Certainly this contraption would need a fighter cover in case of hostile ACs appear.
What would Clausewitz say about it ?
… not to mention the additional power requirements for cooling. Not sure if the twinpack of J85s can make it, at all.
AN/APG-67 used only 24 vols to operate…how much more you need for AESA.
“Various groups in Finland” do not have bearing on whether there is a conflict between the official territorial claims of each country.
Errrr ! I have to step on this a bit.
Various groups in Finland mean ex karelians who lost their belongings, homes, cattle, fields, shops, pans and kettles etc…even Saunas and fishing equipments with lakes…to Russia since they just bluntly took them…already in Winter War. But as the world factbook says…they literally want restauration of Karelia..their hearts are broken when they only see the foundations left of their homes or old houses without plaster and windows in bigger towns. These people are all at least 78 years old to remember anything from their past or older. So I don’t think their anger or home sickness is for very long a headache for Russia or the newer inhabitants in Karelia..of whom very well many might be locals that survived the Stalin purges in 1920ies 1930s 1950s even. I assume they settle for their faith without a mutiny since even Putin says the Winter War was just a redrawing the borderline ( ok USSR did try to take over Finland..but that is just a minor detail ). So I don’t think Finns really fear for anything else than a fourth russian attempt to redraw the borderlines during the last 100 years. It has happened several times on earlier centuries too..albeit also kings of Sweden have been involved.
I think it is important for any army to rehearse every now and then…as long as they stay within their own nation borderlines. 😉
Sorry Ivan if I spoiled your cup of tee.
I just wanna point out that my aeroplane designs are not meant for taking back Karelia ( especially if PAKFA and others aren’t designed to recapture Finland again ).
They are just a 10-15% sized subsitute proposition for 300+ kN engined killing machines.
Of course WWII is still a tender spot in here as 7-10% of the population got killed or wounded and another 8-10% had to leave their homes for ever ( and massive land areas and sea connections were lost ).
Upgrading a 60’s era Skyhawk with 80’s era surplus APG-66 makes perfect sense. Doing the same with a factory-fresh RACR much less so.
I agree..I did not know they had just upgraded them.
I mean the city of Viipuri / Vyborg. The capitol of karelians.
Finnish map before Soviet attck.

maybe casualties over 1 million, but actual deaths still closer to 300,000.
now as for Karelia how do you propose to take it back?
do your army of tiny fighters stand a chance against Russian air power?
Who said we want that completely rottened and decayed area back..all the people are here who used to live there.
Death toll in finnish front was pretty even 1 million for ruskies and nearly 300 000 for finns IIRC.
A million? Is that what makes you sleep better at night?
Fact is, mighty Finland lost, no matter how you try to put it in a different light.
Finland did not loose soviets lost..have you seen Soviet Union lately ?
Soviet strength was 1 million. you guys killed a third of that. not all of it.
btw, do you feel Karelia should belong to Finland?
1 million soviet soldiers were killed all in all in two wars in Winter War and in Continuation war. Several finns were also killed, wounded and lost.
Of course Karelia was part of Finland before Winter War and whole Karelia was finnish speaking up to Stalin started the ethnic cleansing there. We have 10% population here that fleed from their homes in Karelia…and now later came 40 000 Ingrians around Leningrad/Petersburg here. Ask them how they feel about it.
I think Northrop had similar COIN plane and they tested its concept with the Acme Sierra Sue !
I agree it flies short field hops…too large wheels prevent it gaining air speed.
See the film..it took up vertically and stalled on its tail.
Here is also the ARES !

Right you are. He believed he could make better plane than FA-18 Hornet and deliver them 5000 and still save billions of taxpayers money in the process.
Over to Brisneyland !
