it´s not little, but same as Me-109 or spitfire category with two 7,95mm machineguns and one 20mm cannon, it was better than Me-109 and hurricane, but is´t sad story, after occupation of the Czechlands in april 1939, nazis allowed permited to continue B-135 developing, but after september 1939 they had other priorities… So only 5 or 6 prototypes were created and in 1940 Bulgaria bought 12 B-135. Even 1944 several B-135 fought against US B-24 and one B-24 shot down is confirmed!! B-135 is symbol of Czech national disaster in 1938 and 1939. B-135 was one of the best figher in the world before war, even former WWI ace Ernst Udet, chief of Luftwaffe armament said after testing in April 1939: That´s pity that Me-109 is already in mass production, because I recommend B-135 as main fighter fot Luftwaffe

Ernst Udet said many things. To Ernst Heinkel he said; ” We are not going to loose this 2 weeks war for one fighter that is 80 km/h slower than the other !” He meant Barbarossa when Heinkel asked why Me-109 over He-100D.

Nice fan art, but so far the F35 is limited to 4 Amraams maximum, maybe, in the future, it will cary up to 6 amraams internally.

Are you saying the source I gave is wrong…not 8 AMRAAMs + 4 Sidewinders ?

It actually doesnt matter if they are. If the gvt is interested (say in Finland, Sweden or the Baltics) then there is a market. SAAB currently have their hands full with Gripen, FS2020 and their drones, ie stuff that already is either funded or has a market.

So if a gvt is interested, then the manufacturers will line up.

Just think about the money involved. The projects are huge and are always driven by market needs. SAAB are currently meeting most criterias, ie high performance, high flexibility with affordable price. And they are the only ones in that niche.

Your system is more tailored to one role (point defence) and that is a pretty dead market. I also wonder about the efficiency of the radar. The large AESAs in the Super Hornet etc are not enough for modern stealth jets, and considering that the enemy will likely be Russian Su35S and Pak FAs I wonder if the point defence role will be fulfilled with excellency.

I think you would have better commercial success with a UAV/UCAV platform that is designed for growth.

This works fine as a platform for more versatile roles than just point defence 14 x GBU-39s + 2 x AIM9X Sidewinders and a motor cannon with 200 rounds concealed for instance…and this can fit a tailored AESA nicely…extremely wide, but not so high.

One real problem is the weapons release. I think some wiggle room for that should be needed. I also think your aircraft should be made a little bit longer so you can fit more fuel and a better engine.

It’s not the end of the world if your prototype ends up closer to 6 tonnes. It would still be the smallest fighter in the wurld.

I think considering the power of the J85s it would be better to leave out the 3 AIM9s and settle for 4+2 ( amraam+aim9 ).

It is a weird thing how everything fits if you just take smaller engines and short inlets for them.

Wonder if SAAB is interested ?

I think the 1/3 size of J-20 with similar armament but only going mach 1.4 with 2 x J85s could be doable…would it sell with small radar ?

Funny thing happened. I added 3 more sidewinders and now it is 4 AMRAAMS + 5 Sidewinders internally and still less frontal area than in a MIG-21. Might need drop tanks for longer range operations. Size is 1/3.3 of the J-20..and 3 meters shorter than a F-5 Tiger.

No – that was the totally fictitious ‘Firefox’ – hence the name of the film.

BTW, the Sukhoi T-4 actually weighed 100 tonnes – hence its nickname ‘Sotka’ (the 100).

    It also only had a two-man crew – and quadruple-redundant FBW controls…..

It fulfilled its design goals – but was cancelled for political reasons.

Ok, but it represents this same ac doesn’t it ?

Nah. The IL-40 is a much stronger contender.

    I agree..Il-40 is butt ugly; http://www.flankers-site.co.uk/modl_il-102.html

    Il-102 is kinda cute.

You could be right…original FK-9 had only 1:8.5 ratio but later MKIV 1:11; http://www.lightsportaircraft.ca/FK9MKIV/FK9-MKIV-specifications.html

Also Savannah seem to sport 1:12 glide ratio.

    It’s a Rans S6

    Moggy

It must have pretty poor glide ratio; http://rans.com/aircraft/kits/s-6es-coyote-2.html

I lost ex-girlfriend in the first ultralite crash 2013 of Finland early this spring. She was a well liked doctor. Hitherto no glue what caused that Eurocub Mark 1 accident. She and her husband burned beyond recognition. Weather was very turbulent.

    RIP both of these couples.

    Edit; glide ratio is 9:1 ; http://www.pilotfriend.com/experimental/acft2/34.htm

I think it is less than average of these high wing ULs today ?

Anybody know the glide ratio of a Eurocub Mk 1 ? http://home.swipnet.se/~w-58590/index.htm
