That is definitely a Caudron-Renault C.R.714 of FAF.
I think the 1/3 size of J-20 with similar armament but only going mach 1.4 with 2 x J85s could be doable…would it sell with small radar ?
There being no more takers, two clues having been given and 96 hours having elapsed, it’s time to reveal all – although, in truth, I have already revealed almost all that I could find, except for the name of the designer/builder and that of his eponymous aeroplane. This ‘wot plane’ is the Leroy Motoplaneur of 1934, designed and built by Mr. G.Leroy, Professeur Technique à l’Ecole Professionelle d’Evreux, and flown by him and other members of the Aéro-Club de l’Eure in 1934/35 (and maybe subsequently?). And so now, in accordance with the rules, it’s ‘open house’.
Any technical data available upon Leroy Motorplaneur of 1934 ?
So 1/3 of Hornet size plane could carry load just 1/3 less than F-22 but half of the F-35 inside the internal weapon bays ?

Am I correct ?
3.5 times smaller…with same amount of ammo/weapons ?
How about this…slightly bigger than GM-1 ( avatar bird ) ?
Managed to get the 2 sidewinders in and 1 more AMRAAM.
Sorry, Laurence, but Georges Sablier didn’t have a hand in either the design or construction of this motoplaneur.
I am not sure if my answer meet the parameters, but is it one of these; http://www.airhistory.org.uk/gy/ac_F.html
No, not a Drone but this aeroplane was a contemporary of the Drone and was designed to serve the same purpose as did the forebears of the Drone.
BAC Planette ?
How about this…slightly bigger than GM-1 ( avatar bird ) ?
I agree…6 in the middle has been widely published in fan posts.
From Paralay.
B.A.C. Drone ?
Kössi Karhila was reservist; http://www.elknet.pl/acestory/karhi/karhinv.htm
His IL-2 kills were unofficial since he shot the planes partially over USSR or USSR occupied finnish territory and remains of these kites were not recovered also he flew alone.
But since his story and the infantry sergeant story are 100% match I’d take it as a fact. So in my opinion his tally was 37½ kills and not 32½.
record ?
Could it be that you haven’t read enough about WW II ?
Jorma Sarvanto shot down 6 Soviet bombers in 4 minutes in January 6th in 1940.
http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jorma_Sarvanto
It is an amazing achievement because the first downed Soviet bomber in finnish airspace had 150 + bullet holes before it came down. They were heavily armored and shoot back at you.
Another finnish lieutenant shot 5 outa 6 IL-2s formation consecutively in few minutes ( in the summer of 1944 )..if not in seconds. Pilot was recently passed away Kyösti “Kössi” Karhila.
The whole Kössis achievement was witnessed from ground ( from small hill by an infantry platoon leader ). So I assume it took less than a minute. Il-2s were outa ammo after having bombed a finnish railwayhub and sprayed all ammo into ground at the attack ( too inflict maximum damage )…so they flew linearly back to SU. Ltn Karhila run outa ammo as he tried to also down the 6th plane. Latter used Me-109 G-6 and Sarvanto flew Fokker D XXI.

http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ky%C3%B6sti_Karhila
I tried to do the same in IL-2 Sturmovic videogame but I only managed to shoot down 4 planes and got to do a forced landing since IL-2s in videogame shoot back at you.
There is much discussion in the RV world on range. So much depends on prop settings, leaning, level you chose to fly at.
Three hour legs are possible with reserves. At fl90-100 65% power gives around 160 knots. So a little under 500 Nmiles or 570 statute.
Moggy
Tailwind possibly might add another 50 nm ?
Yes. The F-22 has fired it’s AMRAAMs going supersonic and the F-35 has been cleared (but has yet) to fire an AMRAAM up to m1.6.
Looking forward to hear results of that test.
Moggy hello !
I had no idea you also fly. I thought you were just a computer geek. What is the range of the RV you fly ?
I am in process of designing still my first AC the 65 kilo single seater that needs no lisence here or in USA.
Hopefully one day getting it to this stage; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1391152/Man-knocks-basement-wall-free-plane-secretly-building-years.html …with the difference that I wanna get my whole AC done with 5000 usd and have a range of 200 miles on tank full of gas ( 14 liters ).
