Really? Where have you been since the mid-90s?
In my study working on an efficient electric powered airplane.
I think Eisenhower already warned about those ” industrial military complex es “.
Just normal defence practice. Protect your important cities and industry. S-500 coming soon and other new ground to air defence systems.
Iguess you are right.
This is why Europe should not be blindly engaging in cold war with its neighbors just because DC wants them to.
The news is also that Putin is resurrecting the KGB. I have not heard about anything about DC plans to inflict a cold war. Since the missiles are near St petersburg and defensive kind I am not overly worried, but this will affect the coming fighter desicion especially when president Putin just announced few months ago that their troops have been withdrawn to 1500 km from Finnish border.

Whose design was the Kingfish ?
Here this would fly 490 km/h on solar alone and 1040 km/h at high with batteries.
Well not this 1/300 model, but the real thing.
Boeing engineer was amazed about this recently.
Very stable flyer I may add.
For such small model it flies pretty well. Folks at Boeing were impressed too.

Right…that will easily carry the 2000kg of payload and produce the thousands of KVAs of power to run everything…….not!
In fact I am able to draw a concept for a well balanced electric aerodyne that produces 1 MW of power directly from the sun….and this is a ” street legal ” aeroplane with 80 m span ( max allowed for the runways world wide ). I addition it may have for several hours worth power from batteries with 1000-3000 kW ( 1-3 MW ) output if needed. This craft possibly needs more power than Aquila to stay a loft at 100 000 ft..maybe 100-200 kW.

That Aquila seems to be 1/2 of the Solar Impulse II….what I have sketched is 4 x more wing area than the Solar Impulse II…we are talking about 750 kW of power + battery stored energy. Maybe some analog systems should be tuned to digital. 2000 kg is no problem.
I said already in 1979 that sosialism does not work..having lived next to USSR it was very obvious.
The real aircraft with no imitations (officially) was the SR-71, although something did crash at Boscombe Down.
Several SR-71s have crashed.

This procedure error must have been taken care of right ?
from the country with the best cold war imitations
news sez China will make their own U-2, featuring DSI
Where where ?
I think U-2 was obsolete as Gary Powers was shot down in one etc. SR-71 pretty much superceded its job.
I think these SPACOMs and rely link drones can do the U-2 job nicely.

Helios used only 13% efficient panels newest have improved 200% and have around 33% efficiency.

Only electric and rocket engines function above 30 km.
There is an added bonus here…the one who designs a superb aerodyne that flies above 25 km flies well also in Mars atmosphere. Von Braun dreamed about this too.
