Ok..now I see it.
There is your sign.
Ok…Paralay also mentioned something in this direction. OTOH I seem to be thrown out from just about every site I am at.
I think I am a bit autistic and not able to read the signs when some fraction in a site wants me to be thrown out since I don’t nearly as often as many others agree on everything. I always slip on the banana peals layed intentionally out on my path.
So I am not sure what the sign means….quit designing indigenous fighter and concentrate on the few things in life that are important to you…or what ?

Isn’t this ok…why carry extra weight in the air ?
Russian proverb: “There is no prophet in his own country.” This means that at home the inventor will not be rewarded.
The company offers single-engine fighter with radar based on the Yak-130

I have a hunch that the finnish AF will need a new trainer too. I am pretty sure YAK-130 is very capable for that role ( or a proven derivative ).
That is, your idea is very easy fighter – is correct. Now it needs to be carefully formulated and solved :applause:
Paralay…I am not sure if I ought to cry or laugh….it takes a Mig-31 builder to appereciate what I just have accomplished. In my country I just got suspended for life from a forum where I developed it. 🙁
BTW: I checked on the BI-1 wiki story that one of the developers of the soviet rocket plane was Arvid Pallo…this sounds like a finnish originated gentleman. Is there any info about him in the records ?
Finnish territory at different times belonged to the Swedes and Russian. Both may have the desire to return the land back.
I do not understand why the Russian submarine climb in Swedish shallow water? What’s the point? Russian proverb: “Do not be caught – not a thief” 😉
Previously, there came the English diesel submarine, that’s a fact.Finland can not buy Swedish fighter. 201 JAS-39 can be balanced by purchasing 151 Su-30MKI or 114 MiG-35 or 218 Yak-130 (+radar).
Finnish budget allows only contain 45 MiG-35 or 118 Yak-130. With the same exertion as it is now possible, to buy 77 MiG-35, but it’s wasteful.
I wish…I am sure all the next in kin exiles still would like to live in Karelia by lake Ladoga etc…as part of Finland of course.
Military potential
Russia, 17,125,187 km² * 146,270,033 people = 2504901667621171 (1358%)
Sweden, 449,964 km² * 9,723,809 people. = 4375363992876 (237%)
Finland, 338 430.53 km² * 5,450,614 = 1844654184845.42 (100%)Suggest that the role of the enemy assign Sweden, it is real. 🙂
I think and hope that we just rehearse as we don’t want anykinda conflict with anyone. Sweden is real, but no data tells that they are preparing for an assault on Finland.
If you don’t know they spotted a “russian” submarine of the coast of Stockholm last summer and chased it for weeks ( days at least ). They didn’t get it….it slipped I figure. But these unexpected rehearsals cost millions for the tax payers.
You don’t happen to know about subs operating inside the territorial waters of Sweden or Finland…I mean it could be any nation until proven right ?
Since Finland is not a member of NATO, Russia is not an enemy of Finland. The country can be-Occupied Norway, Sweden or Russia. Confrontation with the Russian meaningless, soldiers are in different weight categories.
Swedish Air Force 201 JAS-39. Norwegian Air Force 57 F-16
That is an interesting answer Paralay…it gives alot to think about.
Tell me about the tactics of the rocket plane. Who is the enemy?
I really cannot tell who will be our next enemy…hopefully no one.
I can tell you that an enemy usually in the exercises is the A2 YELLOW…..an imaginative force that tries to overtake Finland.
I haven’t mastered the tactics for this hybrid AC yet…as no air force has shown any interest it would be pretty futile in the first place.
But I remember reading that you can get a better shot with an BWR missile if you are above you enemy…whoever that is.
In my opinion this kinda ac would suit the finnish AF the best…cause it is moderately stealth, versatile, low cost and bullet proof + indigenous and lands on a small field even…also the streched vertical capability could be of use ( IMHO ).
Can you tell who you think the enemies of Russia are ? I recall that communists always hated the imperial west…is it now the smaller fractions in the central east ( as was once stated here ) ?
Doubtful. Norway opted for F-35. I hope but do not expect Canada to take a different path. Gripen E/F not yet operational. what’s left, Denmark, Iceland and Finland?
Finland will decide about a future F/A-18 replacement.
I think Rafale, Gripen, F-35, F-15 and SuperHornet ( also Textron Scorpion and surplus A-10 ) has been mentioned at local defence site. Indigenous aeroplane will not do.
I was recently permanently banned from the site.
Swedish decendant defence minister Carl Haglund ruled out the Russian systems in an interview recently due to the unreliability of the russians past 18 months.
He suspected the russian planes might have a backgate that makes them inoperational when they are needed. ( Do they ? )
Iceland has no air force and Danes are former enemies with Swedes, but nowadays united via SAS for instance.

It is pushing the envelope that will bring about new possibilities.
Straight wing + supersonic speed = nosedive 😉

Aviation postapocalypse: http://paralay.iboards.ru/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3060&p=451893#p451893 🙂
F-104 was M2+ fighter. I figure BI-1 just slammed into compressibility problems due to thick wing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_F-104_Starfighter
See they go all supersonic above 30 km altitude even the paratroopers.
Paralay…this is just the thing…forward sweep is for other reasons ( as well ).
Felix Baumgartner doesn’t look very supersonic to me, but he is.
It is a whole new world if you fly above 30-40 km with low wing loading..like fish look different when you go really deep.
Space Ship 1 also doesn’t look like a Mach 3+ mover, but what do you know; http://www.capcomespace.net/dossiers/espace_privee/spaceship/
I hope Paralay does not take this too seriously, but I think MINIKITE with it’s lite weight could “intercept” a Mig-31 as it has rocket propulsion and piston engines both.
It ( in my mind ) could first fly to 20 km on pistons real slow like Mach 0.8 and then ignite the rockets for few minutes and hit M3.1 at 65 km…like Space Ship 1 can and has done.
This is highly teorethical…and the wood composite I have planned to use may not withstand the heat at 65 km ( 380 degs C ) at M3.1….plywood will ingite at 400 C ( for reference ).
No, I’m not a professional designer of aircraft. But I love doing it. In 1988 and 1991 – 1993, I worked at an aircraft plant “Sokol”, in the production of the MiG-31.
Okay Paralay…that does make you a notch more professional than I am. I am just a guy who has done a lot of R/C model flying and plastic models.
Mig-31 is a rare plane…have those ever visited west in an airshow ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan_MiG-31
It seems to be so fast ( 3000 km/h ) that it would have had difficulties to stay in finnish airspace ( Finland is roughly 1200 x 400 km ) if Boris Yeltsins offer to sell finns Mig-31s would have been commenced/accepted….I think Mig-29 was evaluated…I could be wrong.
OMG…the engines have 304 kN thrust on AB. It is like 2 Hornets combined.
Sokol is situated where you live right? http://www.incredible-adventures.com/migs/sokol.html
Evaluation RCS: 0.9 – 1.86 m2 minimum, 3 – 4 m2 maximum
Maximum takeoff weight 3300 – 3600 kg
Maximum combat load of 804 kg
Normal combat load of 450 kgWing loading of 180 kg / m2
The load on the power of 2.77 kg / hp.
Takeoff thrust-0.72 (maximum takeoff weight)
Paralay you have a really good touch on drawing aeroplanes. I think I asked you once before, but you are not a professional aeroplane designer are you ? Just a fan like I am ? Do you work in the industry ?

So is this like a third eye ?
How much would a thing like that cost roughly ?

Ok it is optical location station like you said…found also in here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan_MiG-35
