G-ADDI was with Chrisair at Sywell in the early 1970s. It must have had at least two sets of outer wings. As when Mike Russell of Russavia started collecting Dragon parts for G-ACET. Two wings had G-ADDI on the fabric. I have the fabric now. I have flown in a Dragon, but not DDI.

Having watched it from pitching up over the grandstand, rolling then turning towards me. Then diving into the ground with in a few seconds. It was was not a thing I wish to ever see again. It nearly put me of my love of aircraft.

There are a few pages about the Tarrant Tabor in the book ‘The world’s worst aircraft’ by James Gilbert. I recall seeing some thing else about it in another book.

It looks a bit like one of the gliders used in the Itford gilder compertion in 1922. But none of those had a delta wing. One did have drag wires from the wing to the nose, Which could be mistaken for the wing.

Its a good few years since i went last, but there was a small musem at Tilly- sur-seulles. A propeller at the cross roads. Also many good Bunkers to explore. You could still find bits on the beaches 11 years ago. I saw Major Howard at Pegasus Bridge museum, and spoke to a few of the OX and Bucks regiment.

RIp Stan, nice place to be remebered. My uncle had his ashes scattered over the north sea by the RAF. He flew in Blenhiems and Wellingtons I have known a few people have there ashes scattered from gliders. My dad wants his ashes to be scattered at the lanuch point on the top of Dunstable Downs.

[QUOTE=Wyvernfan;]Just for clarity if you mean the Biggin Hill Invader it was 1980.
Thanks for putting me right. It was a few years ago. I hadn’t live in Eaton Bray long then. I walked across the field to the air strip and helpped George Cull with the Jackaroo. then took him back to the house so he could phone his wife. Next day he rang me up and asked if i would like to fly to Old Warden. I later got to know him when i go married and moved to Slapton. He lived a few dooors away.

I flew with George Cull in G-AOIR from Eaton Bray to Old Warden in 1981, the same day that the B-26 Invader crashed.
