Good luck with your restoration, It’s a lovely glider. I have nice memorys of flying with my father over the German/Danish boarder at a vintage glider rally in the Blue Brick some years ago.

I used a friend who is a cabnet maker, who had a workshop early last year. To cut some spruce. But he had to go to work for another company, when work dried up. We use a small saw which is part of a Kitty thickness planer. But it dosn’t cut large bulks of wood.

The photo reminds me of the one we use to have, which was built by Leighton Park school. It went to Poland with another one from Camphill. We just had to much other glider work to do, even more now.

Good Luck with getting it done by Febuary. I never make new year resolutions, that way I never break them! I’ve just started doing a bit more on my Kirby Kite as im bored stiff and have done any glider work for a while. I may go out hunting as there used to be another Grunau Baby stored at the other end of my village.

Their is a sketch of the rear cockpit of a Battle, showing the T1083/R1082 in the Aviation Guide ‘ Fairey Battle’ by Ian Huntley. A photo of the T1083/R1082 set up in a Percival Proctor MK1 in ‘Percival and Hunting Aircraft’ by John Silvester. I have a R1082 that came out of a 7sdn Short Stirling.
