PU-597 ,my son and i just got back from Malta today. The Hurricane, Spitfire and Tiger Moth fuselarge are in a new hanger, built only a few years ago with EU Funding. They hope to get another Hanger with EU funding now that two years have past. The tigers wings, we where told are in England being covered. The tailpane in the photo outside, looks to us as of a Junkers JU 87 Stuka, which came from the sea. The Swordfish will need a lot of work, but after the Spitfire and Hurricane they can get it done. The Gladiator wings are on show. They still after the fuselarge, which is in the War Museum. Its a very nice museum, Its changed over the ten years i have been going over there. Very helpfull staff.

460sdn ATC Dunstable had a Blackburn Firebrand in 1947. I have a photo of this which was used in a Flypast artical some years ago. I dont know its serial numberof this aircraft. Their are other photos in the local paper at the time. I must try to see if the original’s still survive in the archives in Luton Museum. They have quite a few aircraft photos, some i identifided of them some 5 years ago for them.

The Martin Monoplane G-AEYY is still around. I saw it about two years ago. The wings where used in the DH humingbird G-EBQP, that Mike Russel rebuilt. Thats now at London Colney.

I spoke to Bill Fisher of Chipmunk fame, in the 1980,s at Duxford during my Russavia days. He helped to remove the hanger from Barton airfield. but i can’t remeber what they did with it.

I believe its a Boeing 100. Hughes did modify a similar Boeing.

Yes this did happen to my uncle sgt T Turnbull in 45 sdn. A good few years ago he did a tape recording for me of his time in the RAF. He flew with 45,55 and 70sdn in Blenheims and later Wellingtons. Sadly he died in 2000, his ashes dopped by the RAF over sea.
Dave:)
I would love to see a Heyford. But i doubt if would ever happen. The bits from the crash site went years ago.
Its some years ago when last went to Yeovilton. The fuselage frame was there, but it never had a placard on it to let you now what i was!
The markings on the fuselage on one Grunau of ErgGr(s)1 was S1+11. But we have not seen a photo of it.
Thank
Dave
In april it will be 20 years since my Luton Minor last flew.

I should have a Luton Minor rib plan. The only wing ribs i have on the wall in the workshop are a DH 10 Amiens. DH 84 Dragon and DH89A Dragon Rapide. With a nose rib of a Vickers Vimy and parts of a Short Sunderland wing rib.

I to remeber the picture, it may have been a old Moth club photo or in the Aeroplane Monthly. Sadly i got rid of these magazines when i got divorced.

From what i can find the Greek National aircraft Factory built 12 T.3A Velos land and seaplanes commencing T11 in march 1926.
One built in Leeds for the South American tour Works order 9593/1 built 1926 with floats, became G-EBWB.
My father rememebers Velo G-AAAW being broken up at Old Warden in 1935.
