A great man. I have his books to remember him.
I this the former Dutch one?
Yes this is the one that came from Holland. It has been under restoration for over 20 year’s. The last 10 years my father, pu-597 grandad has been working on it of and on. We both have done small parts of it. It will fly this year. I found a 1939 date on the rudder, but it may have been built a bit before this date.
The remains of two flying boat where recovered A Ayr? flying boat and something else. This was in a early 70,s Control Column Magazine. This was done by the RAF Museun. Only bits came out. I think this could at Greartbottom Flash?
In the Aircraft Illustrated Annual 1983, It say’s AJ-A was ED887/G and AJ-T was ED825/G. AJ-A is comfirmed as ED887 in Bomber command losses.

How many parts where taken of one of the Fairey Delta’s at Thurleigh. I met a man at Sutton Bank who had a compass in his glider, which he took when he worked there and a person who has the stick, that his father took out when he worked there.
The camoflaged one was originally painted yellow, when we had it at Bletchley park. I will try to get my son to post some photos of them tomorrow.
Dave
We used to have two drop test models at our museum at Bletchley park, a Tornado and a Hermes (which was a concept aircraft, which we never did find much out about.). The Tornado is with the other drop test Tornado out side the Air cadets at Cardington now.
Yes, a Fairey Battle for me to. As my uncle took many photos of them when he was a photographer at Harwell. Then went to france with the AASF.

Saw a camouflaged Dakota fly east over Wicken (nothants) around 1000ft. must be heading Bicester way? Looked lovely and sounded good. It flew back a few hours later this afternoon.
The jury strut was made up at Bletchley. As most people their would not go near it after the undercarrage was lowered! It was very unsafe.

Cheers Dave
