poorly trained halfwits and redneck thugs.
Heard an interesting comment on the radio yesterday – take a redneck from Hicksville and shout “Kill, Kill, Kill” at him during his training, is it any surprise that’s exactly what he does?
Went for a track day junket with Lotus at Hethel in the summer – only realised half way round at 130mph that I’d not fastened my seat belt!
The truth of the matter is that the Americans are fighting an enemy who do not obey the rules (Geneva Convention) of war. They’re fighting an enemy who chop off the heads of civilians, shoot female hostages and use children as suicide bombers. While they must not stoop to their vile, gutter level, the US (and indeed our own) forces cannot afford to take chances. Better to shoot first and ask questions later. In my view this latest incident shows the US soldier to have done NOTHING wrong.
Indeed, just because the event was captured on camera, something is being made of it. I guarantee had the news crew not filmed it, we’d not have heard anything of this.
Looks like I’ll be taking the plunge and going full time self employed in the New Year. Both very exciting and terrifying all at the same time…
six figure tax bill
Four is scary enough!!!
Don’t get me started on the Royal Snail…
Three gripes in one day this week…
1. Package wedged so tightly in letterbox it had to be torn to extract it
2. “Next Day Delivery” arriving FIVE DAYS late
3. Important legal documents delivered ten doors down!
Bunch of lazy cretins
Thanks Andy. I did indeed use language like that. How come the only mail the Royal Mail deliver on time these days are the things you don’t want to receive? 😀 🙁
Hopes for 2005…
To continue to enjoy all aspects of this fine hobby of ours.
To progress to the next level in my career.
That my loved ones and friends continue to enjoy good fortune and good health.
Great idea in theory, though I imagine the insurance boys and health and safety apparatchiks might have something to say on the matter…
That Gannet’s a restoration project just waiting to happen! Hope someone gets hold of her soon. I too remember her flying in the late 80s. 🙁
Buggers! Now I’ve got that old Kia-Ora advert theme tune in my head… “I’ll walk your dog”
Grrrr
Speaking of classic children’s aviation-themed books, my favourite was The Machine Gunners by Robert Westall. Classic. Must have read it 20 times!
You’ll be telling us that they wash it in Perrier next
What’s Korean for Evian?
Read it when I was a nipper. Good yarn. 🙂
