Can someone post a “still” – can’t get the link to open. 🙂
Thanks for the info. Good to hear she’s in safe hands!
Excellent. Would love to see some pictures, for nostalgia’s sake!
Javelin’s a cracking beast. The example at Flixton could do with a lick of paint though. The Staverton machine looks good.
Does anyone recall a Javelin used as a gate guard on an industrial estate in the Worcester/Malvern area in the mid-1980s? As a nipper I clearly remember seeing one from the back of my parents car. Which was it, and what became of it?
I have the greatest admiration for what I assume is the 18′ span Vulcan, but it doesn’t look quite right to me. I can’t work out what it is but I can see it’s a model straight away.
The similar size Victor looks spot-on.
Colour scheme is way off, cockpit looks too raised, tail wrong shape. Wouldn’t mind one myself though! :p
On the Continent they’d chuck the food at the cook
Cook? Microwave operative, I believe is the politically correct term…:D
Not saying that, just suggesting that it’d fit in with their research/development collection, and they’re better equipped with hangar space to look after the aircraft long term, if they were so inclined!
Yes, the MAM should be applauded for saving the aircraft up to the present, but do they have the facilities for longer term preservation? Thats where a national museum like Cosford should come into it.
Ther REALLY annoying bitch.
Ah, Snapper you mean Linda Barker. The one from the annoying “snip snip” Comet adverts. Talentless bint cashing in before her norks go south.

Cosford is just down the road from Coventry and would be the logical, ideal, safe home for the Boulton-Paul with its research/development collection.
Looks excellent from that picture. Too often the smaller collections’ work is overlooked, while larger museums allow rare exhibits to fall into disrepair and end up getting scrapped (Vulcan B1 at Cosford anybody?)
10 years and still no return to flight. That statistic alone speaks volumes… 🙁
I’ve seen the advert in the Daily Mail today – it is a “begging” letter quite frankly. The Lottery will not break their “no restoration to flight” rule for the simple reason of the negative publicity IF the unthinkable ever did happen.
Haven’t used a bus in years, but have to use trains when I’m working in London. As stated by Snapper they are full of the kind of vermin who can’t afford cars and who spend their dole money on ciggies, betting and booze.
Public transport is slow, dirty and outrageously priced. Give me 130bhp, leather seats, climate control and a fine set of CDs any day!
