Lower wages, lower taxes, less regulation, and in many cases little or no-IP to pay for in the whole chain (i.e low costs for each supplier in the chain which would otherwise accumulate) and machinary ect will probably be much cheaper to aquire too.

The UK would probably just keep it’s current flag, saves us the expense of changing it. Plus the current current flag is the recognised flag, whereas few recognise the Scottish flag, so why give up the best known brand name? 😀

Personally I’m fully in favour of Scottish independence, they’ll have to pay for their own benefits and free university tuitions, no more financial help from England. Instead of having a referendum, can’t we just kick them out? 🙂

In addition to what others have said, it’s cheaper to produce things in those countries. If the UK spent $30 billion on $30 million fighters it could have quite a few of them too!

It looks to me like they (defencetalk members) are crediting themselves with high military ranks which I doubt they actually hold. A General, Brigadier General and a Major General all on the same page 😀

Mods may I suggest – a short ban is in order here to stop the JSF for Japan thread being hijacked by these interlopers who wouldn’t stand for it on the site they are mods for 😀

The majority of the British people want out, it’s been established in numerous opinion polls over the years, and it went through a commons petition recently where the government refused to give the people a vote! Doing more of the same useless polls and petitions isn’t going to cause the government to do anything, though it’s good for keeping the issue in people’s minds. The only way the UK is going to get out of the EU is if the Conservative party find their candidates losing more of their seats because their vote is being split between UKIP and the Conservatives. If this happens then the Conservatives will end up losing every election to Labour and only then will they be forced to take action on the EU or face eternity in opposition. Petitions are a complete waste of time, the government do not care what you think except at elections.
