I think it could be 4000W = 4 kW…other radars have that kind of figure.

they wont get to 2500 by 07. I think their goal is get to 1500, then use
the 8 initial order of a/c to make the 1500–>2500 journey in 2-3 yrs.
Its still hard to get from 150–>1500 in 3 yrs …almost 1 hr a day for next 1000 days sustained. PV2 and PV3 need to be online asap, flight durations increased, AAR used and perhaps some creative ways found to reduce the
# from 1500.

the CDG can sustain a higher sortie rate because I think it can do
simultaneous takeoff and landing as the catapult takeoff run is a lot
shorter than the STOBAR run which overlaps the landing run.

I second that opinion, having read most of his works over the years.

one of his traits, not unlike some members here, is taking a report from
say 1996 and applying its conclusions to present circumstances.

I dont think he just lazy, but biased.

the vikrant which was 15,000 tons onlee did have a steam catapult in early part of career to launch alize and seahawk planes.
used them in the raids on bangaldeshi ports in 1971 for example.

but NLCA/Mig29 are much heavier. Problem is with a marine
gas turbine like LM2500x4 how do you produce the reqd amts of
steam on a 24×7 basis ? CVNs have steam turbine propulsion so
for them extra steam is always cheap to get.

A separate steam plant would need to be installed.
