well glitter please educate us why you dont like the idea.
you mean a loan ?
problem with buying up RN harriers is they differ in their avionics
being far more advanced with blue vixen, better avionics and what not. they wont be cheap. Unless its a large block of 30-40 purchased it doesnt make sense to maintain 10-15 oddities in a already small fleet. Stuff like pegasus engines, extra spares etc could be laid in…they setup a pegasus engine overhaul facility in
Goa last year.
imo they will continue to use the current Sea harriers for a while
and probably just integrate a new ECM kit(borrowed from iaf)
and a new aam (whatever the IAF chooses for Jag/Mig27…most likely python4).
the specs of the 412EP look very similar to the Dhruv specs posted

Was this funded under a US grant or by internal resources ?
its medium-light.
Harry are you sure its the F7 ? the radar seems to cover the whole
nosecone with no annular air intake and those side air intakes dont look like F7 to me.
It cant be a F7 and the intakes look too high to be a FC1.
I believe the MirageIII was the last of dassault deltas with the hard ride issue. the FBW in M2K probably solves it with automatic and constant minor adjustments ? I guess it involves heavy usage of the hydraulic actuators and they need to be really best in class ?
yes HAL can learn a lot about marketing from Israeli cos who have become one of the most successful and prominent ‘complexes’ in the last 10 years. DRDO/HAL/ADA are downright poor at marketing and sales … starting with their poor
websites. Someone needs to send their upper mgt to executive MBA courses or they need to develop a separate marketing arm.
how many KA-31s have been delivered to IN and how many remain?
word from bombay is the integration of Talwar class to this helo
has worked out well. I guess the ground consoles are mounted
inside the Talwar class ships, with AG and ADS to have it later.
so for first time ever indian SAGs have a OTH warning
capability now. some kind of radio data network is necessary to distribute the picture to other ships.
tsk tsk PLA 🙂 just spreading the good cheer…
Use by the host country and a couple of external reference accounts are both necessary to make an impression on potential
export customers.
So in that sense having it used by Israel is quite useful. It doesnt
matter at all whats the motive behind the deal – IDF has high standards and wont like putting the lives of their top brass in jeopardy if the product aint good.
this is also the first big india made aerospace product thats going
to a tier-1 AF (not mali,mauritania or mozambique :))
Tying up with IAI for marketing and mission avionics pkgs
was a masterstroke.
here’s the co which HAL asked to design a VVIP interior on Dhruv

looks like our ‘leaders’ are gonna travel in some shtile!
Yawn airpower, old photos.
is it kosher to upload MPEG video clips here ? I have a short video
which I think was prepared by Shiv of the vayushakti04 firepower exercise.
> fly and fight your Mig-29K against Rafales, Typhoons, Gripens, J-10’s, Su-35’s, F-35, and yes even F/A-22’s.
J-10 — yes it should be able to hold its own.
SU-35 — again a yes, though the SU has to find the carrier first
and has a advantage in loiter time
Rafale/Typhoon — no immediate plans to invade the UK/France 🙂
on the “to do” list
Gripen — if it enters PAF yes, otherwise N/A.
F35 — no plans to invade EU, singapore etc.
Raptor — ah I see the 30,000 ships massing in mumbai harbour
for the invasion of alaska 🙂
