    Something different?

I agree that sounds dead boring. I have mothballed FS9 for now although no doubt will excited again when and if FS2006 appears. Why not try a different sim? Earlier this year I got in to gliders and things with Micro Flight. It has got many interesting features including airflow physics over terrain etc which I am sure MS could learn something from.

Latterley I am toying with the all new Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, which has a steep learming curve combatwise but which is great fun just flying around and using ATC.

Frame rates are great in both sims on my lowly beast, which actually struggles with FS9 and LOMAC to the point of being a pain.

One of these days I may get in to X-Plane as well as for me there is no substitute for good sim physics.

    Vacform

Has anyone tried vacform kits such as those by Dynavector. They are supposed to be a little challenging.

Great idea-theres a lot of material out there. For instance a great many video titles from DD which I can’t really afford to buy but would love to see. For example “de Havilland at Hatfield” or “Binbrook Lightnings”. Talking of old TV shows anyone remember “aeronauts” from the 60’s?.A couple of poorly dubbed french actors, a cheesy theme tune and aerial shots of Mirages?. I didn’t think it was good then (except the flying) but it would be kind of fun to see it again.

    WK800

Dave-It seems bizarre that WK800 which whilst having a lot of flying hours and kept in immaculate condition(from what I remember) is to be used for spares salvage. Is there a demand for these spares?. In my opiniion it the aircraft should have been offered for sale as a static at least being the last example of this MK.

    Thanks

    Classic British Aircraft

I saw it-it was really good. This is a new series for DW every Tuesday featuring two classic British aircraft from 50’s and 60’s from what I have seen-seem to focus on those types which are either been actively preserved in working or order or are still in use. There have been a couple of very good programmes which have already been shown including one featuring the Canberra PR9 and another showing the VC10. I think they are repeated later in the week possibly Saturday?

    Llanbedr Closure

Anyone know of the exact closure date and if any events are planned to mark this? I remember seeing some of the best unofficial display flying ever whilst camping at nearby Shell Island. The pilots of the shepherding aircraft often used to do this whilst waiting for the runway to be cleared after a jindivik mission. A great shame it is to see it close.

    Black Lysander

Black Lysander is a good read as recommended by my late grandfather who featured in it-although we have since lost his copy.

I don’t think theres a show unless you count the LMA (Large Model Association) reputedly in “late July”. Theres a large museuem though and well worth a visit if you havn’t been before.
