I’m not going to worry about which part goes twang. My Nikon D7000 is rated for 150000 shutter actuations. I would need to have it for another 10 years before I reach that sort of number. My D80 has around 35000 actuations and is still going strong.

Well, a small part was made up. One of the three has been detained pending removal. Rather spoils the rant though.

I’ve attended a few humanist funerals and a couple of humanist weddings and I have to say that they were very moving and pretty exactly what was needed in the circumstances.
Having said that religion is a great deal more than going to church.

What is amusing is the breathtaking arrogance that because we have science and technology, that means we know there isn’t some sort of higher being or whatever. We don’t know everything and in two hundred years time our generation will be laughed at for our primitive existence.
There are many things we cannot explain by scientific means so in that respect we are no different to our “primitive” ancestors.

On my SLRs, 2013 is around 8500 on two cameras, 2012 was 23000 on two cameras, 2011 11000, 2010 12000 etc. So 10000 seems reasonable.

I take a lot with my phone now as it is a lot more convenient and just as good as a compact

Jasper Carrott, fair enough – he used to be funny

The Goodies – probably very funny when I was ten years old.

Chubby Brown – about as funny as a dose of haemorrhoids.

I am encouraged that the emphasis is on achieving the end result in the camera.

Oh I am pleased and I will certainly rest easier knowing that. The fact is that if digital manipulation is done well then who’s to know?
Surely it’s the final image that matters not how it is arrived at?

Tolerance of other’s beliefs and faiths would go a long way to fixing some the world’s problem. This of course applies just as much to non-believers and their lack of tolerance to those who have faith as it does to those religions less tolerant than other faiths.

I’ll use any means possible, in camera or post-processing to get the image I want. I take Nikon raw files and have sometimes adjusted them by the maximum of three stops if necessary. That’s what digital is all about.
