As you say their problems will not be solved by immediate and urgent aid. The long term effects are probably still to be fully assessed.

They haven’t got clean water and any food so immediate aid is exactly what they need. Once people are fed and treated medically then they can start to help themselves.

Sending huge amounts of money to countries i do disagree with as i suspect very little of the money ends up where it is supposed to go.Sending practical stuff that can be used, eaten, drunk, administered as medicine or made into shelters for temporary housing i agree 100%.

Normally I might agree but in this case I’ll trust the charities to buy what they with the money we provide.

Thanks for the reply. The photos don’t seem to generate much interest though.

Indeed I mentioned NI and the point is?

You said the rules of engagement restricted what the army could do in Northern Ireland while the IRA (terrorists) could do what they liked. I took from that that you thought that the army should be free to do what they liked as well, therefore making them act in a similar way to the terrorists themselves. Hence my statement.

I don’t see how Marine A action was ”terrorism” or have I missed something?

You mentioned Northern Ireland – that’s all.

You cannot accuse others of terrorism then commit similar acts yourself.

Thanks Steve. The PCM kits weren’t too bad, just a bit of fettling here and there. The decals were superb though.
For the MkXII, I used the 91Sqn markings from the PCM MkXIV. I ended up getting a pair of Grey Matter ‘C’ wings as modifying the Hasegawa wings was just too difficult.

I was hoping the New Revell Spitfire might be at Telford. We’ll see.

Just because it might take years, is that a reason not to do it ? As with HS2, what happens to the money? It stays in the economy and goes round and round. No, it might not filter down to the poor farmer right away but they have to start somewhere.
It’s nice to hear of a nation with ambition and the drive to do something like this. I wish we could….

I wonder what the payload is?….. the first Corner shop on Mars?.

    I wondered who’d be first……

Its ok spending trillions on Carriers, Rockets to Mars and a powerful military, but as the majority of the country is living in the middle ages, it would have been better spent improving the lot of the rest of the country first.

You could say the same about every country in the world though. Why shouldn’t India try and better itself? Doesn’t wealth and innovation and technology work its way down? Countries need to be more progressive to generate wealth. Standing still isn’t going to work.
