It’s an odd system , because the House is Republican, they will block anything the President tries to do, then in 2016, they’ll say “well, he was rubbish wasn’t he, didn’t do anything he said he would do”.

Perhaps the US voters were smart enough to realize that Obama didn’t create the problems, they were created in the 10 years prior to 2008 and that fixing them wasn’t going to happen quickly.
I think it best to leave with a Romneyism (could have been written by Monty Python though)
”I believe in an America where millions of Americans believe in an America that’s the America millions of Americans believe in. That’s the America I love.”
Good for him. As someone said last night, Romney becomes another asterix in the footnote of history.

My God, that must be 10 years old at least. The last time it did the rounds it was attributed to John Cleese.

give him a bloody good working over,
Bring back the bovver boys and let them do to him what he did to that little tyke…
Are these the actions of a “civilized” society? No, not really.
The death penalty isn’t coming back. End of. Despite a Daily Express opinion poll carried out just after the 2011 riots.
Ask yourself this, do want the return of the death penalty as revenge or as a deterrent?

Fortunately the powers that be don’t wish the British criminal justice to be dragged back to the dark ages. Just because some members of the public behave like savages doesn’t mean the state has to.

Why is it, that these so called ‘honourable members’ always seem to refer to their transgressions, as ‘mistakes’?
Mistake:- An error or fault resulting from defective judgment, deficient knowledge, or carelessness.
I guess that sums it up.
