Right…… Whatever???
I think I may have my first reply to this thread wrong. I suppose I should have said ” OMG that is hilarious! I am bereft of ribs after reading that”
And I thought humour had moved on from “The Comedians”

You’re absolutely right. They are under no obligation to tell me or anyone when or where they are displaying. I’ll remember that when the begging bowl comes around in the spring as it surely will.
Another thing, you said ‘Why should you donate when you are not going to benefit’ because the aircraft has never flown over East Yorkshire and yet you said that you also saw the aircraft display at Fairford and Farnborough. Sounds like benefited to me.
With an argument with as many holes in it as yours, you should be in politics. Put up or Shut up. Simple as.
You are getting your quotes mixed up with raflec- I never said that about East Yorkshire – he did. If you are going to have go at me at least have the common courtesy to quote me properly and get your facts right.
I am not really surprised to get this reaction. I actually wanted to see the Vulcan at Woodford and who knows, I may have made another contribution but now? I don’t think so.
What a charming place this is.
This thread started out as a positive one highlighting 558’s visit to her birthplace, as well as many other venues yesterday.
I’m saddened that Derek has managed to drag it down to the same Vulcan supporter/ TVOC kicking level he’s dragged the 558 thread on UKAR down to…
I’ve dragged the UKAR thread down? Seriously? I think you should go away and read it again. I’m hardly a lone voice on that thread. I’m not even anti-Vulcan – if you actually bothered to read either thread you will have seen that I was keen to see the damned thing at Woodford but the TVOC decided that only a few would know about it.
I complaining about not seeing it. Jeez….
The attitudes of some Vulcan supporters is frankly dreadful and the TVOC cause is made worse by having such vociferous “supporters”. I doubt they will see it like that though.
Er.. No?
I’m not sure what you mean.

No, it’s OK . There are plenty of other Vulcan supporters with serious attitude problems. I think some genuinely believe that there are no other aircraft in existence apart from the Vulcan. Weird.
Whenever the tour is, let’s hope they let people know before rather than after the event.
Derek………….no.:o:D
It’s the only place the Red Arrows were this weekend.
Unless of course it is an attempt a joke! That must be it. It seems to be lacking a couple of elements to be a joke though. Being funny is the first one. Original being the other.
A “woman parking a car” joke. My God, it really is still the 1970s in some places isn’t it.

I would have thought, Hurn that if you were a true Vulcan supporter you would try and encourage those of us that might wish to contribute rather than denigrate us. If there is one thing that has put me off supporting the Vulcan more than anything else, it is the attitude of the supporters.
Well, whatever the reasons, it worked. Only a handful saw it and those that didn’t, are disappointed. Again.
From the TVOC website
A Jubilee Tour is planned for the Vulcan during late September, visiting locations that played a key role in developing this remarkable aircraft.
It would very remiss if Woodford isn’t on the tour.
Let me get this right. They do flypasts and stuff but don’t pre-notify them just in case people turn up to see it. That is the most bizarre excuse I’ve ever heard. What on earth is the point then?
After excellent displays at Fairford and Farnborough, my father and I, both Vulcan sceptics, were tempted to put our hands in our pockets but after this? Nah.
I’ll tell you something else, it isn’t just me. There are plenty others that are miffed they didn’t know about this. All it does is taint the perception of the TVOC. Again.
So were you at Southport or Duxford then?
So were you at Southport or Duxford then?
Perhaps those that needed to know did?
So it’s the “People’s Aircraft” except when it suits.
I think they are overdoing the “Vulcan effect”. It’s their financial loss if they continue to do these sort of things in private without anyone knowing.
Again, what is the point in a flypast to no-one?
What exactly is the point of flypast that you don’t tell anyone about?
