Exactly – that’s all it would take but apparently they can’t. (or won’t)

I read your thread on the Vulcan–I was actually refering to that.

No idea what you’re talking about. What has that got to do with this thread? Or is that irony as well?

    No worries–certainly no irony intended–I think you’re a misery.
    And I’ll judge who I like–I’m entitled.

You can indeed judge who you like although how you do that without knowing anything about me I have no idea – in this cases you are so wrong but you carry on judging without knowing anything. Good luck with that.

All they have to do was announce the routing between venues. I’m at a loss as to why this is a problem. I know what it says on the website but I still can’t see that knowing which way it will fly to any particular venue is a problem.
I can understand why an airshow or display needs all the permissions but a flypast?

As far as unpleasantness is concerned. There are ways of replying to other’s posts. I have never been less than polite and try to answer the points made to me. Name-calling and misquoting is not at all helpful.

It seems that querying anything to do with the Vulcan seems to incur the wrath of the forum.

I’ve learnt my lesson and will query no more.

Nothing wrong with my sense of humour. It has moved with times though rather being stuck in the dark ages.

Oh dear. A sense of humour failure in a thread about jokes. The irony.

On a serious note, I’ll thank you not to presume to judge anything about me and my life.

😀 ‘You’ve all been naughty boys’ – and I know someone who won’t be very pleased!

Couldn’t give a toss. If folks want to the forum look like a Chubby Brown or Bernard Manning joke book that’s their own affair. Some of us have moved into the current century. 🙂

Maybe the Chuckle brothers could start their own joke thread then all the poor quality, second-hand, third rate jokes could be kept together and not pollute the forum. Just a thought.

I think Rob.Brindley that you need to calm down dear. You need to take step away and stop making rash accusations and assumptions about about people you know nothing about. Making points in bold and capitals is not helping.
I am expressing an opinion that I was disappointed the Vulcan flew within a few miles of where I live and over the place that I worked for 20 odd years and that only some people were aware of it. None of the comments I’ve seen were from anyone who was invited. They just seemed to be from people who happened to hear rumours of its flypast or others like myself who were disappointed to only find out afterwards rather than before.

The fact remains that if they publicise and event, they have pay public liability insurance.

For an event yes. A flypast during a transit – no.

I’m sorry if expressing an opinion offends you so much but seems to be the norm around here.

I must have missed your apology for you mixing up quotes in your previous post.

You are or course right- they owe me nothing and of course I owe them nothing as well.

    jumped up freeloader

You’re either far too stupid or far too arrogant

What an unpleasant place this has become.

Oh OK. A private event for the “People’s Aircraft”. As Basil Fawlty would say “No riff raff”.

Policing costs? What policing costs? For people wanting to see a flypast? I think they might be overdoing that aspect.

The last time this happened in 2009, there weren’t hordes of people in the area.

As regards Woodford, it appears to me that the situation has been explained to you in a more than satisfactory fashion.

I understand the reasons given, although I think they might be overestimating the problem. However nobody has really explained the logic behind flypasts that the public aren’t aware made of, bearing in mind it is highly publicized as the “People’s Aircraft”. What is point?
You would have thought they would want to maximize the public visibility, not try and deliberately hide it.
