I shall do a flight report in the next couple of days Kev. Terrible screaming child on the outbound flight……….unfortunately it was mine!
Air Atlantique had an advert in last weeks Flight for an ATR42 skipper, no other types mentioned.
That would make sense Kev. They have been looking for ATR captains recently.
A lot of Russian aircraft are designed to operate from rather unprepared airstrips so their designers allow many tyres for good load spreading ability. It also allows reasonable back up in the event of tyre failure.
At Bordeaux airport this morning I saw (amongst other things)
GOODjet A320
2 Caravelle’s
Dassault Mercure
The ZERO-G A300 used for astronaut weightlessness training.

Sorry to be so late replying but I have just come back from holiday.
Well done Martin. I have to say I’m not surprised as you have shown you have the right qualities all the way through the preparation for each stage. I’ll talk more in a PM.

Post this question on the ‘Tech Log’ forum at http://www.pprune.org and you’ll probably get the info you’re after. Good luck.
Never flown one but they had a terrible reputation for a while as pilots failed to understand the handling on an aeroplane with no ailerons (I believe it just has roll spoilers). Someone (either Mitsubishi themselves or Flight Safety were running type conversion courses a while ago which insurance companies were demanding pilots attend before providing cover.

I have eaten hundreds of those over the last few months and still enjoy them as much as the first. I also think our hot breakfast is the best airline meal in the world. When I worked for Virgin the standard of food was very high in all the classes but if I had to chose I’d pick a TCX meal anyday!
By the way, TCX’s brief flirtation with the deli bag was a short term cost cutter after 911 had kicked us in the ging gangs.
Thanks very much for posting that wannabe. I have been very keen to see this scheme. I think it would have looked better with the yellow fin (without yellow drifting onto the rear fuselage) and yellow engine nacelles but I’m glad they have left off the cheat lines that the Saab has on the fuselage.
Does anyone know the previous history of these 2 aircraft? I believe the intention will be to start using the second aircraft on the MAN service in the future.
I have experienced 2 take offs in Twotters but never a landing…

Thanks Gaurav that’s excellent. The reason for my curiosity is that this approach is so different to the norm and one that is well worth investigating by others.
