Now come on, own up whichever one of you stole it! 😉
RE: A few pics for Saab and Wysiwyg.
G-OAAS was a 100 series, G-BVMX was a 300 and G-BMLC is a 200. SkyCruiser will know the latest on the Aurigny Shed situation but I reckon they won’t get any more (and didn’t expect to keep this one as long as they did). I reckon the Shed will go, replaced by an ATR 42, then when the Saab leases expire they may consider replacing them with a mix of ATR 42 and 72. The Post Office will actually contribute towards Aurigny replacing the Shed with an ATR to facilitate the carrying of mail.
RE: Manx Airlines
I was GCI based when the Gotland games were going on.
RE: Euromanx competes with BA
I find it amazing that it got certified bearing in mind the large number of aerodynamic add-ons to make it fly right! Look at all the extra bits sticking out of it.
RE: Airline names, what they really mean
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-11-02 AT 11:05 PM (GMT)]The actual name of my employer (and the name of the airline) is JMC Airlines. We are owned by Thomas Cook AG who used to go by the name of C&N Touristic. Thomas Cook AG is 50% owned by Lufthansa so I work for the guy my dad flew his Spitfire against in the war!
By the way JMC stands for John Mason Cook who was Thomas Cook’s son and the one who did most to develop the business. We are very pleased that Thomas Cook’s daughter (Frances Ursula Cook) wasn’t the successful one!
RE: Missiles fired at Israeli passanger jet
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-11-02 AT 10:56 PM (GMT)]If someone told me a missile was going to be fired at a charter 757-300 today I would have gone sick. There’s so few of them doing charter that the odds would have been too great that it could have been me!
I find this really scary as up until now (as far as I am aware) all terrorist action has occured with scheduled airlines, particularly national carriers for the political implications that brings. Today we must face the fact that the holiday market is now a terrorist target too.

RE: Act now on air safety!!!
The two 737’s were both BA with very similar flight numbers.

RE: Easyjet
Definitely an individuals sense of humour rather than any company policy. There are one or two in most companies who will try and inject some extra light heartedness. I say it’s great so long as the important message is still contained in context as it can make a lot of people listen who otherwise wouldn’t.

Cheeky bugger. There are 100 more of those out there and I think I must of heard them all at least 10 times! Just More Crap and Just Murdered Caledonian are usually the favourites.
By the way I would just like to say that I got an e-mail today stating that both Gatwick and Manchester Airports Number 1 charter airline for on time departures in Summer 02 was JMC. Perhaps it should be Join My Club!
RE: Bermuda Triangle
Many flights pass through it. In actual fact there is no strict definition of the area it contains. Some reports state the eastern limit is just off the west coast of Ireland.
There was an excellent TV documantary about it a few years ago which gave a very plausible reason for all the occurances. All the significant dissappearances have occurred at the same time as periods of serious tectonic movement under the ocean in that region. These movments (much like my own!) release large quantites of natural gas which gives the sea an impression of boiling as it rises to the surface. The mass of bubbles in the water reduces the density and previously floating vessels slip below the waves. The gas contains many charged particles from withing the earth which when vented to the atmosphere above the waves cause compasses to misread. This phenomenon has been proven at many other locations around the world where serious plate tectonics occur but hey, who wants to get in the way of a good myth!
