RE: Act now on air safety!!!

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-11-02 AT 08:59 AM (GMT)]Did you know that all the hardware and software for Swanwick was an order for a system for the Americans but when it was completed and tested they refused to accept it as it was too deeply flawed…so they flogged it cheap to the Brits. Now so many different companies have tried to patch problems no one will guarantee it.

RE: Help me catch my mouse

Excellent responses. Thank you everybody, especially mixtec for the last one.

The bread was frankly a waste of time, I seemed to be providing dinner rather than catching any of the buggers. Tonight I am experimenting with Horlicks Farm extra mature cheddar. I can’t be bothered to go downstairs and close off three sides of the traps now so I’ll do that in the morning. I do like the idea of painting dead mice on the side of the traps!

Progress report coming tomorrow morning. Anyone want to buy mouse droppings, I’ve got loads of the stuff!

Whoever tames the sonic boom will be the real winner.

RE: Your chance to be a pilot

In my company we have about 80 757 pilots at Gatwickand I can only think of one with any facial hair. Mind you one of the female captains comes close…

Where are all the rest of the budding pilots?

RE: Help me catch my mouse

The cats have been on a diet for about a week now and they still can’t be bothered! I thought about poison but gave up on it because of the reasons you have already mentioned. I will try to seal the gaps but I’ve got a feeling they are more crafty than that. I’m just about to head on up to the DIY store to see if I can get a more humane trapping system so I can then take them abroad and realease the little buggers there. We have got a humane squirrel trap (as they were traumatising the local kids) and so far I’ve caught and relocated 7 squirrels using a brazil nut as bate.

What’s the best bate for a mouse?

Yes, normal routing from Malaga would overfly between Santander and Bilbao but only if French airspace is open.

Don’t worry too much about your vision. A lot of pilots were quite thick specs; I have to carry a spare pair of glasses when I fly as a stipulation on my medical. Apply now, worry about the detail later.

I think a lot of DC10’s and TriStars had 2-5-2 seating. Bummer if you’re right in the middle!

    RE: Blended Wing-My Analysis!

Folding/swinging wings would add some weight but nowhere near as much as you’d save by not having a fuselage and a tail!
The 757 fuel wing tanks run almost full span. The blended wing has a much thicker section allowing fuel storage further inboard and payload to facilitate wing bending relief.

    Really? I didn’t know that.
