Yes, apparently the 146 has been looked at/being looked at as a potential for a future maritime patrol aircraft using sensors that were meant for the Nimrod MRA.4 fleet. The concept drawing shows a modified Avro RJX-100 (non-stretched)

Buying low houred 146’s and converting them is surely too much of a sensible option for our government…. Mind you, we have just bought two from TNT (see below)
