Hope to attend myself.
£20 per car is the admission price, and it is hoped that Skyblue Aviation’s Beech 18 will participate, subject to CofA renewal.
Is it JPs or Piston Provosts that are due to participate?
Just about to post the same 🙂
Everyone that attended the events staged in 1997, 2001 and 2005 thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Let’s hope 23rd September is a repeat, with all proceeds going to the RNHF, a very worthy cause.
The Scimitar was refinished before RIAT 2003, so should be in good nick cosmetically but probably no so good internally.
The Sea Venom was also in good condition before it was put in store, so perhaps these two objectives might be easier to complete then the others.
People in general should remember what Stephen Grey has imported in the UK, types that hadn’t been seen in Europe for decades or even not at all.
Aeroplanes like the Bearcat, P-38, P-47, Hellcat, Wildcat, the Hawk 75…
In the future we’ll get to see a P-40B and Spitfire 22…
Thanks Stephen and TFC!
(My comments are not directed at anyone personally)
One seemed to be in the older style colour scheme?
Rumours are there will be one last ground run, planned to happen next month, before the decision whether to scrap her is reached.
The hour-glass is fast running out of sand for this big monster.
There’s a BP garage on Popham airfield’s approach.
Watching the pilots skillfully manhandle their aeroplanes around it can be quite entertaining, particularly if there’s a strong crosswind 🙂
The south route/’Avon 1′ was flown with XH134, arriving over Hurn with a run-and-break. It then joined the circuit and performed the overshoot, banking over the FRA buildings and its employees that were stood outside.
Dodgy pic…

Just going to depart for Hurn where one will fly over at 1134 BST.
Before…

After…

Bob sent me the attached photo a couple of years ago.
He absolutely loved flying N58MX and was delighted with its subsequent Blue Diamonds paint-job.
RIP Bob, the United States classic jet movement will certainly be poorer with your passing.
RNHF Sea Fury was flown by Lt Cdr Paul Stone RNR.
RIP Bob 🙁
Check out this rather neglected web-site for information on the Jay Pee and Strikey…
My thoughts and prayers go out to Pauls wife and family.
I echo that sentiment. RIP.
